you can't use non rechargeable batteries with the PA2V2 because the amp requires that the batteries you use have a specific voltage (1.2V). Theres a slight difference in voltage between standard chargeable (1.2V) and standard non-rechargeable (1.5V) batteries which is causing your problem.
