Ive bought a usb dac for my pc.. I was thinking. Do i need asio driver to get pass the windows mixer? Or does the usb solve all that? I have a realtek onboard soundcard.

Im about to buy a new soundcard or dac to my computer.. What should i look for in a soundcard or dac? How do i know which dac is good ? frequencies or what?
