Hello, I have a pair of Koss UR/29 Collapsible Monitoring Headphones with a 8' cord with an in-line Volume Control Switch that kept cutting out.  So, I decided to gut it and totally rewire it.  All the original wiring is now gone, along with the in-line Volume Control Switch. Now, it works...
