I just picked up an MHDT labs Parsidea DAC for my system. I'm extremely pleased with it. I had my doubts that I would be able to hear the diffences when rolling the tube, but I was very surprised by the results of my tube rolling experiments. The 5670, 2C51 or WE396A tubes are cheap! Well...

Anyone out there know if those extremely cheap and supposedly new HD650s selling for $275 (or $300 depending on the seller) are for real? It seems too good to be true that such a deal is not a cheap knock-off or somehow otherwise suspect. Thanks.

Anyone bother to customize their MPX3 with a texture control? If so, please share your impressions.

Anyone using their headphone amp as a preamp=>poweramp=>speaker setup? I would imagine that Singlepower amps would make excellent tube preamps for a floor standing speaker system. As you know preamp-out RCAs can be added during customization, although I don't see it mentioned much here.

Excuse my ignorance but can someone educate me on what the Blackgate capacitor upgrade is exactly? Singlepower doesn't list it on the pricing page (at least not by name). It seem to be one of the most requested uprgrades mentioned on the boards. Thanks in advance.

Recently ordered an MPX3 SLAM and it comes with stock 6BL7GTA output tubes. Does this mean that all the new SLAMs are the SE config? (I did not specifically ask for the SLAM SE when I ordered) My understanding was that the SLAMs normally have 300v 5687 outputs and the SE has 400v 6BL7GTA output...

I'm kinda new to the tube amp scene. I'm having an MPX-3 SLAM built. The stock gain tube is gonna be a 6SN7EH and the output a 6BL7GTA. I really haven't heard any mention of the 6BL7 tube to date. Any thoughts on this config from experienced enthusiasts? How might it would sound on RS-1's...

1) What tubes actually ship standard with the MPX-3 SLAM upgrade? 2) How do people feel about the Texture Control on the MPX-3? Thanks in advance.

I currently have a pair of Grado RS-1s, and I'm thinking of picking up the Musical Fidelity X-Can V3. Anyone out there have this setup and willing to comment on how these two work toghether? Thanks.
