Like when an vocalist sings "take me to the stairs" take and stairs come off very...sharp is the only way i can describe it, very very painful to my ears.

I dont have alot of money to start a super rig so i just want to get some nice cans and a little portable DIY amp for around 200 all together. Maybe more if i can get parts used. I like to sit back and listen to music with my eyes closed for most rock a.k.a pink floyd but also like a nice bass...

What were you guys faves, and if you got time, why?

Are there any portable amps that can do these cans justice, and if not what 100-150 (or around 200+ if i can get them cheaper used, here) pre amp, non-portable, should i look into buying?
