Chord 2Go & 2Yu Wired/Wireless Network streamer and S/PDIF adaptor - Official thread
Hi folks, New H2 owner here. WOW is all I can say. What an incredible piece of kit. I am currently using a microRendu ethernet attached as a Roon endpoint. I have the 2" rigid USB A to micro adapter from the good folks at Uptone Audio for the shortest USB connection possible into the H2...- Z06_Pilot

Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread
I can tell you that I returned a BDP-105 BD player to Oppo and I don't remember them asking me why I was even returning it. They only asked me if the unit was defective or working properly, and I said it was working properly. That was it. Part of why Oppo is such a fantastic company to do...- Z06_Pilot

Yes indeed, the HA-1 does help keep us warm here during this miserable winter we are having in the Midwest ! I agree with you. To my amateur ears (which thankfully, keep this hobby "relatively" within my monetary means!) the HA-1 DAC/Amp combo is simply wonderful.- Z06_Pilot

My unit was shipped with 1.3.3. heck, i kind of wish it had 1.3.2, so I could have the display spelling error...kind of like having a coin that was mis-stamped from the mint. A conversation starter !- Z06_Pilot

Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread
I can give you my impression of this. I absolutely HATE the sound of my LCD3's when playing through my Woo WA22 tube amp. I have tried everything: 3 different DACS's, several tube-rolling sessions, different headphone cables, etc. The sound to me is compressed and lifeless. The mids (voices)...- Z06_Pilot

Ah, perfect words I was looking for Skylab "rose colored" would perfectly describe the WA22 sound. I am really liking the differences between it and the HA-1. But boy, you start spinning a lower quality recorded/mastered selection on this amp listening through HD800's and it can be a...- Z06_Pilot

Woo WA22 owners-What DACs are you using?
WA22 and HD800. VERY nice combination. The WA22 adds just enough warmth to the 800's to make them even more perfect IMO..- Z06_Pilot

Oppo PM-1: A New Planar Magnetic Headphone!
Ah, Overture Audio-I know them well. Have bought a good bit of Martin Logan equipment from Joe at the gang there over the past year. They have some REALLY nice listening rooms in their Delaware shop! That is interesting. sounds like the Audeze cans each have very different personalities...makes choosing tough....at these prices, it's not like you can buy them all to suit your mood :-)- Z06_Pilot

I had the LCD 2.2's and really, really didn't like them...a lack of high end and vocals sounded veiled to me. I now have the LCD-3's and it's a night and day difference. wonderful, lush mid-range....just don't know how it could get better and I think more bass extension than the 2.2. I have...- Z06_Pilot

LCD-3's and Woo WA22....WOW!
Perhaps I should have been more specific. Small soundstage compared to the HD800's(but then everything is when compared to them! ). I have what I consider pretty good IEM's in the JH-16's, and I would never compare them at all to full size cans such as the LCD-3 and HD800....A...- Z06_Pilot

DAC to go with HD650's and WOO WA2.....
Since you are going with a Woo amp, have you considered their WDS-1 DAC? It is very sweet.... I am really surprised that it seems to get VERY little mention on the site. I tried several before the Woo and it just did it for me....combined with the Woo tube amp, warm sound....very nice....- Z06_Pilot

Quote: Oh yea, especially with "Spring Song", track 6. It really highlights the stand up bass, and the HD800's reveal so much detail there. These phones can go DEEP when the material demands it.... At this point, the HD800's are the only over-the-ear cans I own. Any second set I...- Z06_Pilot

I have three choices for this and can't figure out which sounds better: Steve Earle-I Feel Alright-a superb recording by the master. Can't stop tapping my feet when I spin this disc. The clarity is scary good... Michael Jackson-Thriller-HD Tracks-176Khz/24 bit. The clarity of this... -

my HD800's are spectacular with the WA22...they still retain all the qualities that make them fantastic: accurate, open, wide soundstage, crystal clear highs, no veil whatsoever, etc. The WA22 adds just a touch a warmth-nothing that would color the music, but just enhances the low end. Perfect!- Z06_Pilot
