    Yamaha HPH-MT8 studio monitor headphones

My Yamaha EPH-100 IEMs were in the "$100 range".  I loved them.  So did my cat    I wish I had an MT220 to compare them to so I could confirm or deny, but alas, I do not.  Maybe I can snag a pair in a couple months lol...   Edit: BTW what chain are you using for these?  Maybe you said it...

    Yamaha HPH-MT8 studio monitor headphones

I've been using my MT8 every day at work on my Fiio E17k since I got them and still enjoying them quite a lot.  I miss them when I go home to my 400i.  Not that they are superior necessarily, but different.  How can you know you don't have a faulty pair?  Especially odd since the drivers on the...

    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

Is that what I said?     I already have amp/DACs at my disposal.  I never suggested anyone buy an amplifier...  There are some very broad generalizations being made in this thread, I was simply attempting to curb the anti-audiophile zealotry.  You certainly don't need an amplifier for good...

    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

While IEMs do not require amplification, in many cases, adding an amplifier can help to round out the sound or fill out certain frequency ranges, it's not just about the volume.  More importantly for IEMs, the DAC can and will change the sound fairly significantly, even for budget level IEMs...

+1 I've been on forums where regular posters are vicious to members with low post count to the point of being unbearable.  This is NOT one of those forums.  There are members on here that are not completely factual, and there are those that psychologically trick themselves into believing they...

    Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

My magni is definitely on the bright side to me, Fiio E17k is quite smooth and warm in comparison.  YMMV of course.  That said, I do really enjoy it with my HE-400i, though it may not be ideal, I would argue for $200 Magni/Modi is a stellar deal.  It's the only amp that I've tried that really...

    Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

HAHAHA just got these in from Amazon, running them on my Magni/Modi stack.  They sound RIDICULOUS with power metal!! Lovin' it!    I usually listen to electronic (EDM/trance/progressive), but I could listen to metal only on these bad boys and be gooooooood     Not that they sound bad for...

    ATH WS99BT Discussion & Impressions

To me, these phones sound much better going through my Magni/Modi stack than over BT. Like, almost night and day better. Over BT, the sound is overall anemic in the mid bass and sub bass, thin and lacking sparkle in the upper register, some sibilance at higher volumes. I'm new to BT headphones...
