Look! MOONDROP's First HiFi Smartphone, MIAD01

Yesterday I set up this Sony Xperia as my DAP for my TWS. My reasoning for using a cell; 1. Usually cell phone will have stronger antennas than DAPs. 2. The Sony sends in aptX Adaptive and LDAC. For Bluetooth purposes that is all that is important for a player, in terms of hardware...

Look! MOONDROP's First HiFi Smartphone, MIAD01

I e always used only LG smartphones and still do. Lg V50 and V60. Very good phones even now. I was asking for something more modern with bigger battery and 4.4 mm balanced output.

Look! MOONDROP's First HiFi Smartphone, MIAD01

LG is a very large company. Therefore, their numbers are probably gonna be a lot larger to make it makes sense for them to offer a phone. Moondrop will just be fine, I could afford for this to be a throwaway DAP that just happens to double as a backup phone.

...amazing quad DAC phones that still blow many dongles out of the water despite the fact that they vanished from the market due to the lack of interest. I'm afraid this device will follow the dinosaurs the same way as said LG phones and all kinds of other great devices like the iPod Classic. drftr

Look! MOONDROP's First HiFi Smartphone, MIAD01

I can imagine the device will be very late with security patches as well... I wouldn't want to use a phone that's too dated in terms of security updates. One can live without feature updates, but for a connected device which will house lots of personal data it's another story. But well see! I...

I agreed! Still, as long as you are a fan of iPod seeking for a phone as well, this is a good one

...Stack is going to be much more of a performers just based on technological points of views. This will be for people who always loved having IPod or IPhones but a step upward. However, as I said, while phones have no jacks. This one is not only low priced , but also have all kind of jacks...

    The discovery thread!

but is it as skinny as that phone? The positive I see with it is that it's super slim. so that makes it more pocket potable. As Mr Moondrop said..."phone sucks, but DAP rocks."

    The discovery thread!

Yes these are great examples or a product that already exists and seems to be doing well in the market but I think Moondrop should have gone this route and shot to price it even cheaper around $150 if possible. M300 is $200 and R4 is $250+ so there's room for an ultra budget DAP.

Isn't that what the Hiby M300 already is? It's essentially an Android-based iPod Touch.

    Earbuds Round-Up

You are very welcome! :) One of the reasons that I love this thread (and always have) is because (even though I mention my favorites a lot) there is no agenda or desire from those making recs to get that person to buy the preferences of the person doing the recommendation. It really is all...

...Winamp community. I still remember the skin I used, though the default one was cool. This was my goto: Simple! Clean. The limitations of the iPod and DX90 I had were that the interface was relatively fixed. When the Plenue R came out, I was intrigued based on the look of it. I liked the VU...

    Obscure Chinese DAPs

I have to report this player glitches with a metallic screech about every half hour of continuous play. Bummer as it would have been a great light weight airport player. I used to use my clip zip when flying. My ancient iPod photo plays the files without problems so it's not he files.

...players (DAPs) harken back to the past of dumbphones and the need to carry around a dedicated device for music playback. From the Walkman to the iPod and now to the modern day DAP, these audio players are far less ubiquitous amongst the general population now and are more specialised devices...

Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience

The N3Ultra should be free from RF interference unless they are very close to the devices, we don't experience any RF interference from routers that are 1 meter away. If you are in doubt, please wait for the user or reviewer reports, I am sure they will provide more information along this line...

...2TB PCIe NVMe Gen4 M.2 2280 SSD installed. It's about as big around as the diameter of a half-dollar coin, and about as long as an old classic iPod is tall, so it's easy to throw in a drawer and hook up after I buy another $100 or so worth of music. It updates at a little over 525 mb/sec over...

    Earbuds Round-Up

Since I don't put my equipment in my signature, and in case anyone might be curious as to what sort of equipment I might listen to, I have a list to follow of my head gear and current sources (in no particular order, just as they come to mind; forgive if I miss some ):

I've listened to them out of my iPod 5.5G, RU6 and Walkman thus far, fantastic across board. Do share the track that you had issues with so I can have a listen~

If it helps, my main genres are Uplifting Trance and prog House (not the tommorowland stuff) I do use a small EQ to boost up the bass and lower 2-4K by -1 because Uplifting trance is the brightest sounding music in existence lol Choosing between those and CCA Trio is tricky because they have...
