Someone give me a suggestion on earpads for the psb m4u1?   Tried the Shure HP AEC 940 velours but they were too big.

PC Audio setup: +/- 200 bucks

Still don't know if it will be a big upgrade for a amp/dac combo over realtek alc892.

PC Audio setup: +/- 200 bucks

There is a bit of crackle when listening to songs such as Kid A and sometimes other places as well, the bass is a bit lacking of control like I hear just a little bit of distortion in the lower ranges though.  It's not a huge thing but I wish I had a better source to compare the headphones with.

PC Audio setup: +/- 200 bucks

Ok, thanks for the replies, should i upgrade from my onboard realtek alc892 or just look elsewhere to spend my money? EDIT:  No, I don't hear hissing, etc, I'm just looking to improve the sound to get the best out of my headphones.  Thanks again.

Isn't it more about clean sound and control than power with amp/dac?

PC Audio setup: +/- 200 bucks

I know its low amt of ohms, i figured it would significantly improve sound quality using those.

PC Audio setup: +/- 200 bucks

Appreciate the reply, so what would be the best setup for a fairly balanced setup, lots of gaming and lots of music, I wouldn't be using dolby headphone for that.  I'm not a competitive gamer or anything, just like to be immersed properly.  Do DACs matter for SQ as much as amps and would...

    Soundcard or DAC?

Ok, i see, how much of a difference in quality do u think i would see with that combo? I cant find the dx used anywhere for that price.

    Soundcard or DAC?

Not fully sure what that means, but i believr passive. Does an amp just make them louder?

    Soundcard or DAC?

Why would i need an amp? What does it do?

    Soundcard or DAC?

I have a pair of PSB M4U1 headphones, and I'm wondering if i should pair it with an upgrade. Im currently using them for gaming and music on both the PC and phone, but much more on PC. Should i upgrade? And if i should, should i get a soundcard or external DAC? I'm looking at +/- $100 for this...

Would the Creative Sound Blaster Z be a good card to pair this with for gaming and music?

    PSB M4U1 - Thoughts?

Thats good. I really like the design but that was my only real concern.

    PSB M4U1 - Thoughts?

Have some questions about their build quality. They look kinda plasticky. Do they break or scratch easily?

    Post your computer specs!~

It's kind of amazing how long it's lasted.  I had the fan and heatsink turned off for an entire week without knowing after adding a part or something like that about a year ago and it was running at 100 degrees Celcius, and just a few days ago i found the fan and heatsink wasn't fully pushed...
