JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

2nd hand should be no problem. As long as they haven't been abused ie. Used as exercise headphones or gone in the washer etc. My pair of FX1200 is still my favourite IEM and works well to date. The only annoyance was that a fray had developed on the original braided cable sheath and I have since...

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

They'd be pretty hard to fake since wood(birch) housing that thin is not easy to make cheaply to bother faking and unless you got them off some shady merchant, chances of them being fake are slim. That said, I wouldn't take that as a guarantee since the kind of things people fake.... *ahem*...

Hm, odd. I personally find the FX1100 a significant improvement to all the other members of the FX families. Especially with the timbre.

    JVC HA-FX1200 vs JVC HA-FW01

Hi there, you could probably find more about the FX-1200/(1100) over at this thread here as well as some comparison with the FW01. The FW01 are pretty damn new, just released by JVC this November which is probably why not much has been heard of them yet.

So long as there are people willing to throw large sum of money away for a quick retail therapy fix, there'll always be products with ridiculous pricing whether or not they deserve it.

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

The standard cables are similar enough in spec and quality there really shouldn't be much difference - Both uses MMCX connection. Aesthetic wise there's some minor differences ie. straight vs 90°   I've tested my FX1200 against a few aftermarket "premium" cables and didn't hear anything...

    Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread

Personally I find the N1 and N3 to be slightly better than the 300. More meat to the mids and lows while still retaining the clarity. They do require a stronger source to drive well though. As always, I encourage people to never form up opinion from just forum posts. If possible, go try out a...

    DX200=Affordable High End Audio. Dual ES9028Pro dacs. AMP1, AMP3, AMP5, AMP7 & AMP8 ***Firmware support now up for AMP9***

Assuming that an audiophile USB cable will have a significant impact on the end result, you'll probably also want an "audiophile" usb C to micro usb adaptor. I for one don't see the point really as adding ****ty adapter between the signal path would probably do more harm than using a standard...

37°C isn't that bad. Pretty much just body temperature, give or take a few more degrees higher depending on ambient conditions. I just hope by the end of it there's still at least a decent battery life since they also mentioned higher power draw, especially for it to appeal as a portable DAP.

    Sony XBA-N3AP and XBA-N1AP — Impressions thread

Lol, so I gave these a try today at a local store and my first impression when I first laid eyes on it is that it looks rather... well... like an inverted ph****s.   Aesthetics aside, they do sound pretty balanced across the spectrum but do require something a bit stronger than your average...

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

I guess that more or less confirmed that the older series are being discontinued. *calls source to arrange for demo of new wood series*   Great... now I can't wait to give the FW01 and FX1200 a side by side comparison. Not quite a fan of the 'JVC' logo at the back panel though.

    Beyerdynamic DT 150: Bloody Brilliant!

Agree with most of what you said but I think competing with the LCD range is a bit of hyperbole there.   I have the chance of comparing the DT150, T1 and Audeze LCD-X off the Chord Hugo TT. The performance I got off the DT150 and T1 are near identical while the LCD-X is still significantly...

I'd give cables the benefit of the doubt since it interacts directly with the transmission of the audio signal path. Can't say the same for the chassis I'm afraid.

Whelp, I won't be spending $3.2k on Maybes. That's for sure. Also based on my understanding of electronics, no. Just no. It's one thing to say "Hey it's a premium product, hence premium material for chassis" Quite another to just make such a claim.   One wonders if FTC is aware...

    Beyerdynamic DT 150: Bloody Brilliant!

Whelp, you asked for my opinion and I gave my honest 2 cents. But you know what they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure. Some of my friends agreed with my opinion, some disagreed. But hey, your ears, your money.   In the end, I would still stick by what I've always advocated. Try...

    Beyerdynamic DT 150: Bloody Brilliant!

As stated before, It's a matter of experience, personal perception and preference. What you've described the Mojo as I would only reserve for the Hugo TT. And even then I still prefer the iDSD micro over the Mojo for reasons stated before. This is why, I always advocate try before you buy. What...

    Beyerdynamic DT 150: Bloody Brilliant!

Answer to the first question is no. At least not for me. It sounded way too dry and I suppose 'clincal' would be the term, the soundstage is narrow too relative to the iDSD. Yes the detail is there, resolution is top notch but it just sounded like a very lifelike zombie - it has no soul. Of...

    Beyerdynamic DT 150: Bloody Brilliant!

Won't deny that it could use a bit more flexibility in the input/output department but it is ultimately designed for use as a standalone portable Headphone DAC - If they just set up a way to use the internal storage without need to connect to a smartphone :p. With 5V rms output the Flow could...

    Beyerdynamic DT 150: Bloody Brilliant!

That is if you like the Chord Mojo sound and portability. It really doesn't do the Hugo or TT justice. As it stands, I much prefer the iDSD micro over the Chord Mojo in terms of sound and I have heard both though not side by side comparison.   Aurender Flow would be my go to choice if it isn't...

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

Not quite what I would use to describe the K3003. My recollection of them are quite the opposite. I wouldn't say they have realisitic timbre, as some instruments ie. cello lacks some realistic heft to it and vocals can get anemic and the treble feels artificially extended versus the FX1200's...

JVC new top tier Wooden IEM : JVC HA FX 1100

Had the pleasure of listening to the Noble K10U and Katana today. While both are excellent IEMs in terms of detail, the FX1200 still trumps them by leaps and bounds when it comes to timbre, bass and bass detail, mids, texture and musicality.
