    Audeze Mobius review / impressions

Finally got my headphones back from RMA(I was backer 26). Still has hiss. Reduced quite a bit and I guess I'd call it acceptable if you got a good deal on them. Long and short of it is Audeze said they'd make the hiss inaudible. I think they even bolded that bit in their multi paragraph post...

Seems that way, very weird. The person I talked to game me a label and RMA number. Guess I'll hold off on sending it till next week.

I'm pretty sure audeze is on their shipping schedule. They ship it to their 3PL and once it clears customs it goes out to customers. From what I understand, the 16th was the date they shipped to their 3PL. Once it clears customs it will be on the way.

To quote audeze, bold my emphasis: So audeze set the expectation there. That said I'm sure they will be perfectly acceptable with a much reduced hiss and I will keep and love my pair. Still, audeze maybe needs to not write checks they can't cash. With the above statement in bold it is...

The copper usbc cables really bring out the warmth and creaminess of the mids by affecting the polarity of the bits passing through the cable. Pair it with the copper mobius for maximum foot tapping lushness. Wow those mids, so smooth Yes this is a joke

Audeze Mobius Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

Even if the speakers could be set to the side, you still have competing HRTFs from the mobius and from Dolby. Then as soon as you moved your head the Dolby would stay the same, but the Mobius HRTF would be recalculated based on head position. It would sound terrible. Again, it'd be like if you...

Audeze Mobius Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

As said before, you can't have just head tracking without dsp. Dolby atmos and windows sonic can't take raw head tracking as an input so they can't do anything with it. I'm sorry you had the wrong expectations.

Audeze Mobius Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

No. Dolby atmos for headphone is processing the sound expecting a stabilized(not tracked/moving) head wearing a pair of headphones that output direct 2 channel. It creates the sound approximating speakers with the listener in that position. When you then feed that to the mobius, the mobius is...

Audeze Mobius Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

Yea. Anything that does its own virtual surround sound is processing 5.1 content and outputting two channels. So if you run those 2 channels to the mobius it's essentially like 2 speakers playing the processed content. Meaning the headtracking is essentially useless and the competing HRTFs and...

Audeze Mobius Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

Tried it, sounds terrible. The X7 is sending virtualized 5.1 as 2 channel audio so not only does it already sound unconvincing with the mobius' Hrtf/crossfeed doubled on top, as soon as you move your head, any actual illusion of surround sound is gone. It's like playing the x7 over speakers, it...

Well the copper is rounder, smoother, much more lush and warm. It's definitely the more creamy sound. Musicality is unsurpassed and it's just plain fun, foot tapping even. Every day I'm surprised at how thick and full the copper sounds vs the blue. The tonality Is just so much more toneful

I have before, and I have again just now as a refresher. The mobius does a better job at rear cues, especially lower frequency cues, than that and other stationary binaural recordings.

Audeze Mobius Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

This is, i think, why the rear localization is so much better than virtual surround software without tracking. Your brain is pretty bad at judging things behind you if you head is perfect still. It's the minor movements that help you locate things

Audeze Mobius Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

You seem to be arguing why someone who wants none of the features of mobius would want to buy mobius. I got the mobius because I want latency free headtracking. I got it because I want 2 channel virtualization, even in bluetooth. I got it because I want a great mic. I got it because I want to...

I should log off too. I'm too hype for this. If we can fix the hiss, this is my endgame headphone, and man have I gone through some headphones.

I'm sure Audeze is dealing with a lot of PMs. They certainly are monitoring this thread, maybe they will release a modified pad. To clarify I still get a hiss but it's the very upper frequencies of the original hiss. Much more easily masked by sound.

Definitely possible. I'm on the opposite end, with the cups only extended 1 or 2 clicks.

Pressing the cups does quiet the hiss. Seems almost like it cuts down the lower frequencies of the hiss, cleans it up.

Windows 10 USB hi-res, youtube player maxed. 28 I can still hear the hiss over the track. After 34 or 36 I can't make out the hiss unless I focus on it. My "comfortable" level for this track would be 24

My only on hand reference is the sony wireless iem with anc. The Mobius hisses slightly more. Closest approximation is lightly rubbing my fingers about 6-8inches straight out of my ear(so to my left and right, perpendicular to my head.) For further reference I live in a very surprisingly quiet...

And the surround virtualization is incredible. To not only accurately place bass cues but to also accurately track bass cues as I spin in my chair is nothing short of extraordinary. I really like the default preset followed closely by music although like another poster i like the music preset...

I also find music to be much less of an issue than gaming or movies. I may ultimately keep my pair just for music. They're mostly just detracting for movies and games for me. As I've stated before. These are actually my ultimate headphones. If they didn't have the hiss they'd literally be...
