No, Paul has already contacted me again. We will work this out.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Short story is: I tried and failed. Questions to iBasso did not get answered so I'm basically stuck.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

An app cannot function as a generic system-wide driver, so no.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

CPU power is not an issue nowadays. We could look into using the Toneboosters EQ V4, but it is perhaps even less suited for portrait usage.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

If you send the log file I can perhaps tell more. Audio data really doesn't take a lot of bandwidth. 192kHz@24-bit is 1.1MB/sec PCM. With FLAC that would be half, so you only need a consistent 0.6MB/sec connection. Now that is raw data, so with overhead and the data coming in in chunks, a...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier. The beta version and some personal stuff is taking up my time. I have sent a reply now, but it's basically the network speed being too slow or interrupted by Android battery 'optimisation'.

    FiiO M11Pro | Dual AK4497 | THX AAA 78 Headpone Amp | 5.15" 18:9 720P | Exynos 7872 | 3G Ram+64G Rom |

To FiiO: the M11 and M11 PRO send a ACTION_AUDIO_BECOMING_NOISY event after 2 minutes of playback for no reason when playing in UAPP using a USB DAC (and our custom USB audio driver). We have made a work-around for next release by ignoring this event for the FiiO M series, but this event...

To FiiO: Since we have managed today to get HiRes mode and DSD mode working with USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP) on the FiiO M11 PRO, people are asking why they cannot download our app from the Play Store on the FiiO M using your recent update. The problem is that USB Audio Player PRO requires USB...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

They do not show a Hires mode in the config and seem to use the offload mode exclusively, meaning it just passes the file name to the internals of the audio system where it gets decoded and played. There would be no quality difference in doing this (since UAPP would just pass the same file names).

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

I have just added HiRes support for the M11 PRO including DSD. MQA decoding and rendering is likely being done inside the FiiO Music app, so you will 'only' get MQA decoding with UAPP when you have done the MQA in-app purchase. If you like to test this version on the M11, M11 PRO or M15, please...

5.4.2 that is rolling out will show the format. Thanks for the suggestion.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Well, no. It has to display both rates for many reasons. The app will display the source resolution now as well when applicable.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Perhaps I can change the File: text into the file format, like Direct: 96kHz FLAC: 96kHz Note that you can swipe from any position on the left side, it is not necessary to do that from the top left. Who knows on how many other apps you missed this function! :-)

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

I guess we could, although it's already quite crowded on that line on smaller phones. Direct means the output mode. It's either Android, Direct or USB DAC.

It depends on how you get to that screen. You can also slide out the left panel and select Library or whatever source you were playing from.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

That's a question for Google, I don't know, but probably nothing to worry about if you don't buy 5 Android devices a year.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

The problem is that you are thinking that playing 16-bit over a 24-bit mode is not bit-perfect. There is absolutely no reason to want to achieve that. Even if you would succeed, it would be: app 16-bit -> Android direct 16-bit -> oh, oops, the DAC only does 24-bit, so pad to 24-bit whereas it...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

You just need to enable the Quad DAC in the notification area and then you are set for the most part. Then it's a question if you play MQA tracks or not. If so, you need to enable the MQA flag in the HiRes driver flags (do NOT touch any of the other flags!) and enable bit-perfect mode. If you...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

There are also 16-bit Direct modes on some devices, but if there is a 24-bit mode, then UAPP will use it. The app will then have to convert everything to this 24-bit mode. This means padding for 16-bit files or converting from floating point to 24-bit when using non-bit-perfect mode.
