Don't need to be "educated" in musik. Just go with the heart and ears. Don't listen to the "reviewers" online, either. Many times, their tastes won't match yours. It's cool.

How are you, CC? Blomstedt's Beethoven is also pretty good, the recent one with Leipzig in hi-res. His ancient cycle with Dresden back in the 1970s, was also superb. Rich, fuller sound than the Leipzig cycle. cheers Old Man o' the North

How did I miss this all these years??! Recorded live just 7 mos before LB departed. Too bad he started Bruckner so late. Would have loved to have heard his take on the 7th and 8th. TG we still have Herbie and Wand's cycles.

Mozart famously said that ‘Bach is the father and we are the children’. Most people assumed he was referring to the father, JS. He wasn't. It was CPE whom Mozart idolized. Wow.

I have the Solti/Vienna boxes of LPs, bought near-mint from a reseller on CAM. It's decent, but not better than the CDs from Decca. It's hit and miss, as usual with vinyl. Get a copy that's brand new. I was lucky. Of course, the books that came with the LPs are priceless....
