    Grado GS-1000 + ?

Going back to this old thread, lately I've been enjoying the GS1K very much with my Woo6. Seems like a very good match.

    Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread

I've had mine less than a week and already they've become my go-to for just about any type of music. Amplification is my Beta 22 and I'm very happy!

    New Audeze LCD3

I got mine yesterday from a great Head-Fier and I'm very impressed. So far, I've tried jazz, rock and classical. All stellar. I'm using a 2 channel Beta 22 for amplification. It's gonna be hard to listen to other cans for a while, I think!

Amp to go with the Sennheiser HD 600.

I like the Woo 3 with my 600 cans a lot.

    Portable amp for AKG K701

Outstanding advice. I have the little Ray Samuels Hornet and it is particularly impressive, especially for its size. Never really tried to drive the 701s with it, however. Wouldn't surprise me if it did a really nice job. Ray is VERY good.   Quote:

    Listening Fatigue with DT990/600s

Great cans with the right amplification. I love 'em, especially for rock and amplified music.

Considering taking my HD600 on a plane ride. Good or bad?

Bad idea, for the reasons stated above.

Best amp for K701 - my wallet is generous.

While I think the Woo 6 works well with these cans, I still prefer the Heed Canamp. It's just a good match and the price is not that high, either.

Is the Ultrasone PRO 900 worth it?

If you are a basshead, yes, they are worth it.

    Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

I'm really enjoying the J$ leather pads on these cans. More comfortable with perhaps a slight reduction in low-end "boom."

The deal with high end cables

Expensive cables do have a significant, noticeable effect...on your bank account. On your sound, not so much.   Standby, though. There will be people along any minute to tell you how they hear a huge difference.

    Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

I'm finding these cans to be excellent with classical and jazz, in addition to rock. In all, a really balanced sound with great range. Not quite the neutrality of some other cans but very hard to find fault. Impressive. I really like them with the Heed Canamp.

    Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

Got 'em today and have only heard them briefly but I can already tell they're special. Unique sonic signature, for sure. Love the bass. I've heard them with the Heed Canamp so far and it really rocks. Looking forward to putting them through their paces with the rest of my gear!   Quote:

    DT880 vs DT990 | Comparison & Review

No, I don't buy these conclusions at all. I have to wonder about the gear used upstream. Not what I've heard from these cans at all.

first timer Just bought WoodAudio 6 with no headphone in hand yet

I really like Grados with my Woo 6 w/Sophia Princess. The RS1 and GS1000 are very good matches with the switch in the low-impedance setting.

    AKG Headphones Questions

I think the K701 is definitely a little on the picky side as to amplification. I've heard them sound pretty anemic with the wrong amp. OTOH, I've gotten good results with amps I didn't expect to work well, like certain OTL tube amps, etc. You really just have to try them and see if they suit...

    DT990 vs AKG K70X Comfort?

Quote: Pretty much agree with this. I'll just add that the Beyers can be made even more comfortable with the gel pads but get ready for bass-all-over-the-place!
