    AKG K702 Impressions.

No, they do not sound same. They have same body and shells, but there are 3 differences in accessories, which affect the sound: 1. Earpads - not only the color is different. Also fabric and dimensions. Main difference is in soundstage. I like the sound of K702 pads more. 2. Foam rings under...

Shanling M6 Player - New version with ESS DACs coming soon

Hi, I would like to go higher from my M5s and thinking about original AKM M6. There are last pieces of it on our market with nice price. How is the sound differs? Can it be an excusable upgrade, soundwise? In particular I would like to have bigger soundstage and not so rolled off high-treble...

    AKG K702 Impressions.

I use two types of foam rings. The original black one and the new gray AKG rings, which are less denser and therefore they have clearer treble. https://www.thomann.de/gb/akg_foam_net_piece_k_701.htm Recently I have ordered PCOCC cable, made in Japan. I'm curious about the sound.

    Tansio Mirai Impressions Thread

Well, since the TSMR-4 Pro (and TSMR-2 and TSMR-4, imo) needs high resistance cable, the original one is very suitable. I've tryied another 4-core cables like Faaeal, KZ or similar looking BQEYZ ... but each sounded worse. There was always problem with unrefined treble.

RikudouGoku Not that bad sound maybe. I like the 4 Pro with origo cable for metal or rock recordings. With Shanling M0 It's satisfying listening. Some voices are nice too. But Instrumentals, classical music or HD do not sound live, timbre is compressed and cheap.

Although I generally don't like foam tips, they work great for Starfield and SSR / SSP. The high-treble on SF hasn't sharp lift anymore. They also make better fit.

I have TSMR-4 Pro for an 1,5 year and still haven't found any better sounding cable than the terrible original one. Trebles sound worse with others and I can hear also a worse BA timbre. And that is a problem, because sound with this orig. cable is average at the best.

A bit fragile but ok. More patience is needed. These filters are natural sounding, waiting for more to try them on Tin P1 or re-400. People ask me what this MOD sounds like... ... Yes this mod changed the sound a lot. Timbre isn't colder anymore, rather warmer, like Starfield. Bass has more...

Slow VS Fast roll off and Minimum VS Linear phase

It is a sort of artificial gloss what I hear with all filters except NOS. I don't mind elevated high frequencies, but unnatural. Is it true that NOS has the best range in high frequencies?

Slow VS Fast roll off and Minimum VS Linear phase

Now I am convinced it is Post Echo, what causes my difficulties with trebles. I'm sensitive to deviations at high frequencies and it was also reason, why I liked sound from soundcard or mobilephones more than DAPs. But NOS filter solved this and I'm happy now :)

I like this warmer "muddy" signature more and more. TSMR-4, Starfield or S8 should be surely in this category. But vocals must have some energy, or everything is lost :) 4Pro is just intended more for prof usage.

Agree, timbre of TSMR-4Pro BAs isn't the most natural for the money. Mostly in treble area. But I like it's neutrality and speed. Using it with occ cable and switch to 123 or 0(1)20.

    Tansio Mirai Impressions Thread

It is a `w´-shape realy. A lot of sub-bas. The bass is the thing which stops me to turn up the volume more on songs with already added bass, but it is mostly non-fatiguing, rather exciting (EDIT: DAP's "Short Delay Sharp Roll-off" filter is the key for this bassy iem) Full-boddied neutral-warmer...

Am I satisfied with the buy? Yes definitelly, TSMR8 are what I wanted, clear, energic sound with more bass. Space should be for someone looking for U-shaped treble driven spatious sound. I'll add more impressions later, they're surely burning-in.

Nowadays I prefer AS12 over the Moondrop S8. S8 is very source picky, I use it only with my PC soundcard. I like AS12's bass and treble more. True mids are better on S8, but upper-mids - for music with female vocals or el. quitars, AS12 is my best :)

Hi, I have FAAEAL 4-core litz ofc. Can't recomend it. Soldering joints is awful. Right side stopped working after few days. Sound is classic ofc - nothing extra.

Hi, I haven't used OFC or SPC cables in a long time. I'm not interested in resistance, but in sound and their performance isn't sufficient for me. Bass is muddy, mids are thin and treble hasn't nice high-end sparkle. OCC cables, even 6N aren't expensive anymore and if you try one, you will be...

I think I'll skip these asf/x this time. I'd rather buy a good single DD, like Moondrop SSP/Starfield.

I was thinking the same way. I was not disappointed by any iems by Tansio so far, so I bought a new one without worries (and reviews) :) My preferences are musicality and universality in exchange for big details and Tansio gives me this.

Foam tips are good for smoothening treble peaks. But I'm not fun of them anymore. My experience is that they aslo remove air from hi-end and low-end. And I also hear shift at midrange towards the brighter tone.

    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

What is great about AS12, it has little to no BA timbre in treble area with no peaks. I'm curious about ASF/X timbre. And the AS12's bass? Better than Moondrop S8, TSMR-4 and others. Almost DD like. KZ really knows how to reproduce Bass.

Hmm, so the ASF with already smoothened mid/treble (according to the graph) and bigger bass can be more universal. And after the burn-in .... looking forward to some impressions.
