NEW Sony Walkman Z Series mini review!!!

Question for Poweramp users... on the Z, if a song is playing and I interact with the program, say go into the library, enque a song, there will be a momentary burst in volume, as if some type of compression was lifted for a second or two.  Am I the only one experiencing this?  Use Poweramp on a...

My Thoughts Of the New Sony Walkman A865

I have the A865 and have the Z for a week now.  The A865 is good,  the Z puts out the best sound I have ever heard from any portable source.  Every time I've bought (and returned) a cowon (the X5 and the S9 I couldn't shake the digital (not exactly sure if this is the right way to describe it)...

    audiophile tablets?

I would definitetly check out the tab plus 7 inch.  Bought it based on sound quality alone, and very very pleased.  Drives mdr ex700's very vell, excellent separation/soundstage (using poweramp).  I don't know anything about the internals used.

    Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

For anyone interested in using a tablet as source, the 7 inch tab plus has excellent sound quality.  Currently paired with sony mdr-ex700's,  sound is clear, full, better than my sony  nwza860, on par with sony x1000 (from memory, haven't owned in in over a year) sound is good using regular...

My Thoughts Of the New Sony Walkman A865

Quote: Depends on your usage.  I haven't drained it yet but I'm usually listening for 3 to 5 hours a day, second day I'm at roughly half battery then it goes back to charger.  This is using eq with clear bass at 2 volume usually around 15-17 when I use with fiio E5, 20-23 without.

also, for USA people, i still have the first X that i owned (dropped it and screen broke, can only be used as a drive) has anyone tried the sony replacement plan?  It costs 250 but maybe I might go that route.  How long from the time received do they ship replacement unit?

I have my hands ON the Sony X1000 Walkman - Impressions / Discussions

So my Shure E530's are broke, I'm sending them back for repair, in the meantime I've been listening to the X with the included headphones, and IMO they are very very good, especially after burn in. The BASS, IMO, in on par or even better than the Shures, and while the other ranges are not as...

I have my hands ON the Sony X1000 Walkman - Impressions / Discussions

So this wednesday I went and bought a Cowon S9 to replace my sony X. Don't get me wrong, the cowon sounds really good. However, the screen and UI sucks compared to the X. The screen is not very sensitive and IMO slugish. Apparently theres this Claw UI which people rave about, so I downloaded it...

I have my hands ON the Sony X1000 Walkman - Impressions / Discussions

so I bought the X back in July, a week after the opportunity to return it passed, I dropped it. The outer glass screen was fine but the screen beneath it cracked, rendering the player useless. (I now have a very expensive $433 flash drive.) For those few weeks I was in heaven. Tomorrow is my...

I have my hands ON the Sony X1000 Walkman - Impressions / Discussions

listened to the X at JR on thursday. it has the same pre loaded tracks as the s738 so i was able to do some comparison. I am loathe to blow $400 on a 32 gig player but come this friday I will be purchasing the X. Don't have an interest in videos and as for the browser, thats what my blackberry...

Bye Bye Head-fi (for a little while)

I'm mostly a lurker here but I would say that this site has cost me upwards of $1000 since I first started. But now it's over. It started with the e2c's, then I moved to the e3's then I moved to the e4(scl4) then to the se210's which some jr salesman convinced me were on par with the e4 (they...

    shure scl4 vs se420

I own both the scl4's and the se 420's, my scl4's have a short in the cord near the plug, causing one ear to go out, so I bought the se420's this past summer. The se420's have a more fuller sound, but the scl4's are more...accurate. they have a better sound stage than the se420's. Yet while the...

Sonys MDR-EX700SL or DENONs AH-C751? please help

Honestly, I would stay away from the sonys. They are harsh sounding. When I first got them I couldn't listen to them, but since these are dynamic drivers, I let them burn in, the harshness has greatly reduced but it is still present to some degree (80+ hours burn in)
