    AirPods

Eh. Testing where? I can't see how anybody would think the earpods sound better in any way. They're heavier, less comfortable, more anemic sounding, and have no presence in the low end.      I'd say at least 2x better. The bass is really what makes it. What's interesting is that you know...

    Retina iPad Air 1st Gen

Up for sale is a Retina iPad Air. 1st generation, 16 gb of storage.    Build   Screen (The part that matters): Perfect. Not a scratch on it.  Back: Some very slight scuffing on the metal and one small microscopic ding in the bottom left. Can't feel when using and you won't know it's there. ...

FS: Retina iPad Mini (First Gen Retina)

Up for sale is an iPad Mini. This is the first retina version that was released. Amazing screen, extremely light, and you can use the Lighting out port to make this a very powerful, lightweight DAC with a great UI.    I'm thinking of 140 with free shipping to the continental US; it does not...

JDS Labs C5 (and other things!)

Ibasso DX50. Mint condition aside from small scuffing on the back, removable battery cover. Other than that, the unit is in great condition.    I was thinking of letting that go for 140.    I also plan on selling a JDS Labs C5 amplifier. Again, near mint condition AND it would come with a...

Compare Contrast Help (under $200) IEM

I had the ATH IM02's. Loved them. Neutral, great clarity, clean bass. Ended up buying the 40 dollar spc copper cable to improve the sound even further.    Only listened to them through DX50 -> JDS C5, so I don't know how they perform unamped. Great for the price though. Perfect for your...

    Review of Audio Technica ATH-IM01, ATH-IM02, ATH-IM03, ATH-IM04, ATH-IM50, & ATH-IM70

I found wonders using the flip mod and Comply tips. The included silicons are pretty thin and are only useful in really quiet places, IMO. If you're commuting or in a coffee shop, comply's will be necessary.

    Review of Audio Technica ATH-IM01, ATH-IM02, ATH-IM03, ATH-IM04, ATH-IM50, & ATH-IM70

Hey guys; if anybody is interested I have a pair of mint condition IM02's up for sale in the FS section that come with the silver upgrade cable.    Everything is mint and comes with extra tips, so if you're interested, head over and check it out. They're priced to sell.    If you look at...

[Poor Man Reviews] Audio Technica ATH-IM02

Ok; well I ordered them last night so we'll see how they sound when they get here. I ended up throwing my old Comply's on there and doing the flip/cut mod I remember from 2010 :)    Sound is great and comfort/isolation are superb. We'll see how the hybrids stack up; hopefully I get the same...

Audio Technica ATH- ES 10 Impressions Thread

Hey guys I have a pair of near-mint ES10's for sale in the forum. Amazing headphones but I'm making the move to IEMs as I don't have time to listen at my desk anymore.

    Audio Technica ES10

Up for sale is a pair of near-mint condition Audio Technica ES 10's. These have about 20 hours of TOTAL use on them.    Amazing headphones but I'm making the move to IEM's as I do most of my listening away from my desk.    Sound great straight from the headphone jack of my MBP and even...

[Poor Man Reviews] Audio Technica ATH-IM02

Was there any change in isolation/sound when going to the Sony hybrids? I love the sound I'm getting out of the stock silicons but the isolation is minimal and I lose a ton of micro-detail in coffee shops/etc.

    Acer C720 Chromebook. 4gb RAM

Up for sale is a near-mint Acer C720. This is the Haswell 2995U version. The chromebook regularly gets 7 hours of use with blazing fast speeds. In loading heavy pages like Engadget and The Verge, it lags only 1 second behind my i5 MacBook Pro.    Great laptop but it really doesn't get the use...

    JDS Labs C5/C5D (pg96) portable amp/amp+DAC

Well it depends on how much energy your cans require. Being properly amped > using a DX50 UNLESS the DAP can drive your cans. Honestly just do some of your own research and find out the output values of the DX50, CD5, and whether your headphones would benefit from amplification.    Honestly...

A Concise View of Why The ATH-M50 is No Longer King

Get a warmer-sounding amp; the K702's are a little bass-light and without proper amplification they'll sound really tinny. Excellent soundstage though.

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread

Quote: Well the sound is going straight into your ears rather than being shot "at" your ears, as with a full sized headphone.    I don't want to try and BS an answer here, but just search around and I'm sure you'll find a great writeup on this topic. With the advances in technology and...

More expensive top tiers vs 'bargain' top tiers

Quote:   I owned the UM3Xs two times for a total length of about a year, and I can definitely agree on the "artificial" music separation. It's designed to eparate music as it's a stage monitor, by nature, but this can create... not problems, but an interesting perspective in the music...

Best IEM for $200 or less!!

Quote:   While your'e waiting for the comparison to that question, try reading a lot on the sound signature of the Triple.Fi 10s and try and cross reference that with other phones you know about or have heard.    Of course, this only helps you but so much, but, if you haven't yet...

    $200-$300 IEMs?

Quote:   The last bit is something worth reiterating; music doesn't always sound "lush and/or rich", especially classical music, among other similar genres. I had the ER4P/Ss about 1.5 or so years ago and loved them for their accuracy and neutrality. However, that's saying with the...

    $200-$300 IEMs?

Im Going to vote either the Westone 2's on this one; the ER4P/S would give you amazing accuracy, but iMO the music doesn't carry as much weight as other phones bring, and as a result the music isn't as emotional or captivating. The Etys are great phones though, and if you do go that route I...

Best IEM for $200 or less!!

From my experience with IEMs, the list is included in my profile, I would definitely recommend the UE Triple Fi 10s. They can be had for under 200 on Amazon and sound amazing with the genres you listed above.

More expensive top tiers vs 'bargain' top tiers

Why are the Westone 2's not included in that list. Out of the top tier headphones/IEMs I've owned over the years Triple 10 Shure 535 ER4P UM3X K702s, They are amazing, and are of the same caliber as the aforementioned phones. No a/b testing; going from memory.
