    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

Are you trolling? Like I’m actually not sure. That thing about the European philosophy at the bottom was pretty cringe. Both Beyer and Sennheiser have a 2-year warranty as well. Sure their products last longer but there’s little innovation there.

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

Echoing what phthora said… they are dealing with extremely fine tolerances and thin material. The diaphragm moves thousands of time per second. The fact that it lasts more than a decade in some cases is pretty miraculous. Also others are worse… Hifimans have a very cheap/dodgy build and a 1 year...

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

For those prices? The LCD-2 and LCD-X are very competitively priced in terms of technical performance and build quality. They also have the best warranty out of their main competitors which are probably Hifiman Ananda and Arya respectively as well as the Focal Clear MG. Customer service is...

    Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2

That's fair. I've been considering that combo for a while - it does seem like a good option although I'm pretty torn on the Bifrost... do you have direct experience with the combo? (I'm concerned mainly that it might be a little smooth/warm for the LCD-2). It seems people who have it absolutely...

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

I think the Jotunheim 2 + LCD-2 is generally regarded as “good synergy” but honestly, my laptop gets these guys loud enough… They don’t NEED a lot of power. Not to say they won’t scale but it’s not like an HE-6 or an LCD-4

    Chord Mojo 2: Speculation Thread

It might not be unusual however when Chord talked about the aesthetic of the mojo they said they wanted it to look/feel like a smooth pebble I kind of struggle to see how this protrusion fits into that vision. Unless it's more subtle than it looks in the photo. As much as we tell ourselves it's...

    Chord Mojo 2: Speculation Thread

I thought he said first half? (I'm watching right now) Still very exciting. Wouldn't be surprised if we see it in early May... Every shop, far and wide, has been sold out of the Mojo it seems. I do hope they have sorted the battery issues with the Mojo.

    Chord Mojo 2: Speculation Thread

I think if this is a legit Mojo 2 then the release is likely imminent. Either reviewers have been sent samples or there are units in back rooms waiting for the release to be announced. Where would it come from otherwise? Unless Chord is trying to build some hype... which is smart, and fun...

    Chord Mojo 2: Speculation Thread

Ya we have no idea if the packaging is “plain white” or what. Their packaging of their higher end products isn’t exactly sleek… I’m still skeptical though… what are you guys thinking? Should I be the guinea pig and try to order this from the sketchy Polish site?

    Rebel Amp

Do you have any experience with Burson amps? Most of them are also class A and offer more power. Not sure how they compare.. am currently considering both for my LCD-2

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

Audeze really stands behind their products. 3 year warranty and it gets renewed if you need to replace drivers within that timeframe. The thing with planars is that what makes a sound is piece of super thin material that also has to move a lot. It is not robust and it can fail if mishandled or...

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

I’m glad to hear that the LCD-X is working well for you. I’m really happy with my EQ profile but.. I should tell you. I bought a pair back in December and I remember messing around with EQ a lot. There was a point where I was comparing side-by-side with the Sennheiser HD600 trying to get the...

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

The reason there was a pad revision is to pull your ears slightly closer to the driver. This helps reduce the effects of phase cancellation and thus pulls up the dips in the upper midrange typical of Audeze headphones. I suppose if you start adding spacers it will mess with the distance and they...

    LCD-X and XC Update

I think I heard somewhere that they are working on it... I know.. helpful right? I’ll edit this if I find it. *update: I cannot find text but I think it may have been in one of Grover's live streams shortly after the pad update was announced.

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

Here's what I've settled on so far... This is based off of @metal571's EQ profile but is pretty heavily altered. I'll include a link to his EQ settings below. I'm curious how you are coming along with developing an EQ for yours. Wanted to upload a photo of my set so thought I'd take this...

    LCD-X and XC Update

I think Schiit has some stuff (Hardware EQs) and possibly will be releasing more. I also think they should publish charts... at least here if not on their blog.

    LCD-X and XC Update

I’m mainly talking about people who have digital setups. But... analogue EQs still exist although, one cannot “plug in the numbers” in the same way. I don’t mean to speak for Audeze and I could be wrong but as far as I know the LCD Series seems to be designed for the “serious audiophile” crowd...

    LCD-X and XC Update

My 2f with the new pads just sound a little darker than neutral with some added upper treble sparkle. Have been trying to solve this with just 2 high shelf filters: one to bring up the upper mids a bit and one to drop it back down (and a little lower) for the treble. It may need a bit more than...

    LCD-X and XC Update

There are graphs on this forum... I’m wondering about the other LCDs... 2,3,4 all underwent pad revisions.

    LCD-X and XC Update

It's funny because speaker people spend a lot of effort treating their rooms and sometimes correcting with DSP. They do this mostly "in the dark". We have tons of people making measurements and research that has gone into target curves for headphones and all we need to do is "plug in the...

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

I’ve never had a headphone where this wasn’t an issue. The tips of my ears touch the fazors in the new LCD-2f as well... maybe the ZMFs or the Meze Empyrean would be a good fit but I’ve never had a chance to try either.

Audeze has updated their pads. There’s a chance your old ones were just extremely worn down.

    LCD-X and XC Update

I mean.. if you don't want to spend the full amount on getting the drivers and pads changed you could always opt to just change the pads. I believe most of the improvement in FR is attributed to the pads. Audeze does recommend changing both though... not sure if it would be more challenging to...

That is a good question.. perhaps they're better suited to one model over another. But, damping acoustic reflections usually is a good idea.

they will fit on either side of the driver. It’s to help with preventing reflections off of the baffle.
