Rank the best sounding daps that you heard

As the m1s remains one of the best DAPs I know (sonically and musically wise), I must add (ex aequo, at my first place 🥇) : - Aune m1p (depends of the associations : a little more refined version of the m1s, but a little less impact and density ; more "neutral")... - QLS QA361 : a real monster...

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

My son has AirPods (Pro) 2 and when I tried them, and compared them to my Odin (or my Zeus), it wasn't much of a comparison. There have been people here for years who run TOTL IEMs with an iPhone. I must say, my iPhone 16 plugged into my MBUX car system sounds great, but I have no desire to...

    The discovery thread!

The T10 are better than OK. I got mine for $51, and there's not a better value proposition in my humble IEM or over-ear collection. These things just sound "right," with no crazy planar metallic timbre. Also easier to drive than some planars, with good fit. Yeah, the look is very plain Jane, but...

    The discovery thread!

A saturated market is a buyer's market. And with new manufacturers still appearing on the scene almost daily, there must still be good money to be made for manufacturers too. Everyone seems to be winning for the time being. *fingers crossed* I follow way too many YT reviewers. But my faves are...

    The discovery thread!

...I know his preferences more than the others and he keeps it about what he likes. Like him or not, HBB doesn't make his preferences unknown. Zeus rarely dislikes anything. Who are the best review guys who appreciate the most varied signatures? I think I know, but am interested in hearing...

...could bring those deep basement notes to life without sacrificing the overall tonality, and well that’s basically what I’ve got the Harmonicdyne Zeus Elite for. With some music this is just an amasingly impressive headphone. You just gotta remember to turn the volume down because this badboy...

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

There's no school like old school. I do all my EQ from an analog Realistic 12-band EQ box, and it works really well. I got mine off Ebay for not much money. Sound initially processed through an S.M.S.L M200 DAC. 48 hertz of crystal clear sampling. Then the sound gets Pre-Amp EQ'd. Gimme that...

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

...up every time I listen to music with some Bass Boost... Lately I've put aside my Beyerdynamic T1 3rd gen and DT1990 PRO and the HarmonicDyne Zeus Elite for some more Bass... I tried that new headphone from HarmonicDyne the "Eris"... Don't know, I have an acquired taste in the sound I like...

Not that impressed with HD800s soundstage...

Hi I am afraid that You were expecting too much - double as wide ? I had Denon AH D9200 and compared it to the Hifiman HE1000 v2 stealth and Arya Organic - no way near double as wide. But clearly wider, more spacieus, without the need of searching for the differences. I think the headphone You...

...a rhythmically pleasing manner when the headphone isn’t shoving “detail” down my throat via a boosted treble. The Sierra passed with flying colours…but I have missed listening to my Harmonicdyne Zeus Elite lately and put it on instead….yowsa what a bass! Hah…sitting here with a big grin on my...

MrSpeakers AEON Flow Open - Impressions Thread

I own the 660s2 and actually find they upgrade over the aeon flow but still they aeons are faster and planar so I guess I’m looking to get something that’s even better than the 660s2 and aeon flow open combined

...and overtones into the picture. I’ve owned the Aeon Flow Open X and loved it for what it was but have since then upgraded to the Harmonicdyne Zeus Elite that fleshes out the midrange even better still. Both of these options are warm bodied like the original Aeon Flow Open but sound more...

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

I've been going retro for the past couple of weeks; dusted off my Zeus XR customs. It's been at least a year since I've used them. I completely forgotten how satisfying they are. These were my first TOTL iems and still hold up all these years later.

...each other, like an elegant dance of the Sahara. Gorgeous sounds and perhaps one of my favourite new discoveries. Highly recommended for people who need vast open plains but are stuck in the city. Harmonicdyne Zeus Elite on my head and it’s natural warmth feels like it was made for this album.

...from post and math rock, dance and what sounds like something akin to electro Krautrock. Hypnotic, hookladen, groovy and trippy like an uplit neon highway at lightspeed. Grabbed the Harmonicdyne Zeus Elite as I wanted to feel the basement notes whilst still hearing everything else in it’s...

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Back with my cans and dived straight into the new one from Khruangbin and the masterful bass of the Harmonicdyne Zeus Elite. This headphone is unique in that it brings thunderous warmth without sacrificing the mids and upper frequencies. Just perfect for an album like this. Slow larvaling desert...

...I was so enthralled by the album I span of his yesterday evening that I’m glad I bought two more✊ This one feels more contemporary sounding but retains the organic vibe I fell for last night. It’s soul alright..and probably a great pick for female company methinks. Zeus Elite bringing da bass

...or sunset. There is so much colour to the guitars. Vast open sound that recalls the great westerns only here funnelled through a beautiful melodic Latin bluesy feel. This music is absolutely gorgeous. I chose the Harmonicdyne Zeus Elite for some warmth and character and it doesn’t disappoint👌

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Inspired by the luscious tones of the Harmonicdyne Zeus Elite I thought I’d spin one of my old favourites from Janko Nilovic aka the Hungarian funk version of Ennio Morricone. This one is a jazzy soul venture with a proper whiff of the old school funk. There is a warmth to all of this that just...

...some strange 80s music and reached for Cabaret Voltaire’s Red Mecca. Somewhere between electronic post punk and Krautrock this music just feels unapologetic and wild…yet you can still dance to it. Felt like a job for the warm embrace of the Harmonicdyne Zeus Elite and it’s seductive bass powers.

For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Saw Zombi mentioned by @Lindholdt earlier and thought I’d pop on maybe my fave of theirs, Escape Velocity. Feels like the sort of video-game electronic music from the early 80s a la John Carpenter but with powerful Neil Peart-like drumming on top. Still on the Harmonicdyne Zeus Elite.
