REVIEW: Unique Melody Merlin - hybrid dynamic/balanced armature custom IEM

was planning on going for a CIEM but the u8 just seems so appealing with their ADEL technology. Has anyone here tried both the u8 and the merlin?

REVIEW: Unique Melody Merlin - hybrid dynamic/balanced armature custom IEM

Hey guys, I've been looking into buying the Merlin and I noticed that there was a huge price bump of about $200. Is it really worth it at $1150? Also what are the differences between merlin v1 and v2?

The Audiophile Bass Lounge (Basshead club part II)

If you want a basshead can, go for the SZ2000. Best basshead cans out there imho.

DT770 (250) sound very bass light?

The thing is, when people often recommend the DT770 they forget to mention that the DT770 80 ohms version is the bassiest version of the DT770.

Please recommend a head amp for my Grado 80i's

I remember someone saying that the Aune T1's work well with the Grados.

are ath-m50 that great? looking for.basshead headphones for mostly every gdnre, specially electronic, acoustic solo guitar and rock music

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 ohms (be sure to go for the 80 ohms as its the bassiest one). As for portable amps, the e7 and e11 are pretty good and cheap too.   edit: I almost forgot to tell you the e7 has a DAC while the e11 doesn't

If you dish out another $40 you could get a Beyer DT770 Pro 80 ohms. I haven't listened to the cans myself but, everyone speaks highly of the DT770 (pro 80 ohms being the bassiest of the bunch)

    The Basshead Club

Haha yes, born and raised. I talked to a guy who listened to the TH-600,Pro 900,TH-900 and even the D2Ks. Out of all the headphones he said that the best bass response he heard in terms of tightness and quantity goes to the pro900. However, the TH-600's have more straight forward mids and a...

Headphones with deep bass, but clear mids and highs?

If you are going for the q40 be sure to buy replacement pads for it as the pads they come with it are pretty bad. Buy a pair of dt770 replacement pads or the alpha dogs if thats in your budget.   Links for reference: Beyerdynamic DT770 pads (there's a black version of it too, just search for...

Do i really need to burn in my headphones?

I totally believe in burn-in. When I first got my MDR-XB900 the mids sucked and the bass was all over the place. I played some pink noise on my headphones for like 16 hours and the difference was amazing the bass tightened up and the mids were obviously better. Burn-in with pink noise does...
