    I would do the same. It couldn’t be that hard if you have the skill or access to someone with that skill. Sending the unit back would be too risky and costly.

    At this stage, with all those upgrade options, I wont bother upgrading the original R2R-7. With the firmware upgrade it’s already really good. Just use it for another 3 years and upgrade to the latest model at that time. Stop visiting head-fi and use the extra time to listen to music.

    Just want to share that I have spent a month playing zelda with an HD800. When you play for hours you realized that HD800 is the most comfortable phone to use. It's so comfy, you don't want to take it off your head.

    Thank you. So you're using it with an HE-500. Which amp that you use to power it? How about the volume level, do you have to use a very low volume?
