+1 on holding off for now but if the can fix the issues people are having then it seems like pretty are pretty favorable otherwise.

That may or may not be a very strong statement...without bashing anyone; is it well-known why that's the case or is there something you can politely share?

DOes that mean you don't have the 1060 open or you have/had those as well but like the improvements on the 1060c enough to mod the closed backs to open instead?

I thought that's what you were going to say. Really enjoying everyone's impressions here. Makes me think my next purchase will be the Senn HD6XXs and wait for Monoprice to clean these up a bit.

I can't speak from personal experience on this particular item but from what people are saying (and how I approach other items) I'd say wait til V2 as there could be more/other QC issues people haven't experienced yet. That's what I'll do on these anyway.

How/where did you get them for $263? Any of the "promo" e-mails I've received recently from Monoprice never seem to include these headphones (or much of anything for that matter).

Btw, LOVE the beard (and the hat too for that matter). Living in a bearded community (like a gated community but w/ more commitment), yours is truly a fine example :)

Maybe best to wait for an open box on Monprice's website then. I really WANT to spend money but shouldn't rush to do so, lol.

So based on your experience w/ the LCD2s (which the company itself places above its EL8s) would you place the M1060s above the EL8s?

People here seem to favorable to these. How do they compare to the EL-8s and, given the similarity in price on refurbished units directly from the manufacturer, are the Audeze only something to by 1st quality and not refurbished?
