My guess after doing some reading today would be something to do with the fact of it being a digital output, but that is only speculation. Too bad really.

Really? TF-10 tips will fit? I will need to check that out as well. I haven't touched mine since having them remolded by Fisher.

  Forgive the simplistic nature of this question, but what makes them only usable with a USB at this time? Is additional circuitry needed to make them work with something like a 3.5mm connector?    Thanks for the tip on Lunashop by the way. 

  I have to second the Comply T-500 tips. They do work incredibly well, and the reds happen to look great with my white JBs.

Has anyone tried this with a 3.5mm connector? I am really wanting to make a cable to go with my 5s and iPad Air.

Has anyone tried stripping down a lightning connector and using it for a direct integration? If yes, any pointers?

I am about to embark on my first re-cable for my D2000's. I have everything but the splitter. I have looked online, searched the forums, and tried to figure out how to reuse the existing piece. All no go. Anyone have an idea where to pick up splitters for the Y in the cable?

I agree...two versions would be ideal. Not sure why he doesn't take this route with his product line, and I say this being an owner of the 4t.

Beautiful upgrades. I just purchased a pair of D2000's this weekend at ACGear while away on business in NYC. Best $270.00 I have spent in years! Where does one locate a set of D5000 cables? Alternatively any recommendations for a DIY cable?
