USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best
Well I got it, it’s definitely Realtek and can output 384kHz/32bit on my PC so I assume it is ALC5686 which is a pretty good deal for $8. Sounds kind of bright to my ears. I did a direct comparison with the headphone jack on my T-MOBILE Revvl 5g and the dongle on my phone at the same time with...- Eric F

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B09GB229TT I need one of these for my iPad Air 4 and ATH-AD700. There are so many of them in the $10 range on Amazon. Last one I ordered didn’t work at all, I just ordered this one today. It appears to be Realtek based but it’s hard to know because the...- Eric F

What's the differences between the Hiby W3 and the W3S (Saber)? I assume the Saber is the newer model- is it better than the W3? They are pretty much the same price.- Eric F

Sony MDR-DS7500: World's first lossless headphone amp/7.1 wireless surround setup
Georgieo, I picked up a pair of these as well. Unfortunately I can't read Japanese either and am forced to use Google Translate the same as you to translate the Japanese .PDF manual, which is a bit lacking. Have you figured out what COMPRESSION and the various settings does?- Eric F

Sony MDR-DS7500: World's first lossless headphone amp/7.1 wireless surround setup
I'm game to import a pair of these through Tenso.com. Anyone ever use them before? They seem to get fairly decent write-up around the web. I'll have to use their "buying service" and pay the extra 15% because I have no idea how to order through the Japanese websites (Yahoo.jp Shopping). I...- Eric F

Sony MDR-DS7500: World's first lossless headphone amp/7.1 wireless surround setup
Quote: I've owned the Pioneer SE-DIR800C for ~5yrs and always thought they offered up a good approximation of the "surround" experience in a headphone environment. Only bad thing was they were a bit unweidly/heavy and fragile and broke the first time they hit the floor (although a bit...- Eric F

Sony MDR-DS7500: World's first lossless headphone amp/7.1 wireless surround setup
Considering I have such sensitive neighbors I'll probably end up getting a pair of these (if the reviews are good). I've been waiting for a set of cans that can support Blu-Ray and lossless more fully. I also like using headphones with my HTPC because I don't hear my PC's fan while in use.- Eric F

Wireless 5.1 Headphones
No, not true. The general consensus here is that the Pioneer SE-DIR800Cs are a pretty good deal, or you can get the 800C base with the Audio-Technica ATH-DCL3000R cans too. I picked up the 800Cs a few years back for $300 shipped and they do a decent job for a pair of wireless Dolby...- Eric F

Are the Pioneer DIR-2000C cans compatible with the SIR-800C base?
Dropped my 800C phones. Superglued them back, but they broke in a bad spot so now they're uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. Just curious if the 2000C cans are any good and if they're compatible with the 800C base?- Eric F

Are the Sony MDR CD780 headphones SURROUND? And if not... what are good surround cans
Dolby Headphone is quite good, and is a fine substitute for a 5.1 setup (late night listening, apartments, etc). I highly recommend people check out the Pioneer setup that Takashi recommended. I own a pair and I don't see how I ever did without them.- Eric F

ATH-DCL3000"R" arrived

Nice. I like the stand. Problem with the 800c phones is there's nowhere to put them. I'm interested in a comparison with the 800c phones as the 3000R costs more than the entire 800c package.- Eric F

DTS vs Dolby Digital with DH
DD is pretty impressive at the higher bitrates used on DVHS D-Theater tapes. I think they use 576k and 640k and sound much better than their DVD counterparts. There is no reason why they couldn't use higher bitrate DD tracks on DVD.- Eric F

Pioneer DIR800C
Quote: After 10 years, and 8 soundblaster cards I will never buy another creative product again. It blows me away that they can advertise the Audigy 2 as supporting digital surround sound when it can only output PCM(2 channels). Creative had nothing to do with it- You didn't do enough...- Eric F
