Has anyone commented on the version 2? Is there any audible difference?

I owned the hd660 S2 for a few weeks and then returned it. It can’t touch the SR3. I didn’t even like it as much as the 650. It’s not a bad headphone by any means, but it isn’t worth its price in my opinion. I think the SR3 is worth more than its cost.

Is the soundstage really as bad as people say? Is it at least as wide as the Sennheiser 650/600/6XX/660 line?

You are one of the very few who like that headphone! The 700 is largely considered a horrible flop. And it’s why Sennheiser created the 800 and 800S. But if you like it, then more power to you! I think the SR3 is very undervalued. I still love the Sennheiser hd650/6XX but it can’t touch the SR3.

There’s no such thing as completely neutral. They are tuned very closely to the modern Harman target, which is simply a target based upon majority user preference. It is not the only target nor the only preference curve. And it is also not even the same target that Harman established a few years...

The Hadenys has an amazing looking frequency response. If it sounds how it measures, I may have to scoop one up. It reminds me of the HD650 with almost perfect Harman bass —> sub bass.

The hd560S is already a bright headphone compared to other models in the 5XX/6XX line. These have an even greater peak between 3-4 kHz which is also in the ear gain frequency range. I don’t know how these couldn’t sound sharp/harsh. Hard pass until user reviews start coming in.

I can definitely confirm I can hear a difference with the Halo output on my Atriums. It’s real and it does good things.

That’s my point! You can spend very little on your source chain and get amazing sound as long as your headphone choice is good 😊 But if your headphones suck, it doesn’t matter what amp and dac you connect them to. Your headphones still suck.

Totally fine to agree to disagree. My Atriums sound amazing even amped by a THX amp and a Modi dac. You can’t make an Ultrasone sound good even paired with a Chord Dave and amped by Chernobyl. To each their own.
