[REVIEW] VSONIC GR07 – Labor of Love
About amping, I don't think that an amp will make them sound a lot better. Depends on what you call a lot better, though. Out of my 0404usb they are impressive, and while the experience is less convincing with the Fuze, they still sound very good. On the other hand the GR07 will easily...- patate

[REVIEW] VSONIC GR07 – Labor of Love
Quote: You bet I do! After a few days I'm still so impressed with the GR07s. They produce a clear, even and highly detailed sound, far beyond what you would expect at this price point.- patate

[REVIEW] VSONIC GR07 – Labor of Love
Nice! How would you compare the bass and treble presentation to that of the DDM / RE0 ? I imagine RE0 is more treble-focused but what about the very small hint of edginess in the lower treble you mentioned ?- patate

They are for Re0l ! (Re-0 review) (vs Shure SE530, Ultimate Ears Triple-Fi, Etymotic ER4P/S, Klipsch S4)
Hi and welcome Yeah I kind of miss my RE0s. The only IEMs I've tried that deliver an honest reproduction of the music (except in the low end region due to the the rolled-off and lean-sounding bass, though the extension is excellent for a single driver). I gave the q-JAYS a try...- patate

Comparison Review - Earsonics SM3 vs. Earsonics EM3 Pro vs. Earpower EP-10 Plus vs. Audeze LCD-2 vs. Beyerdynamic Tesla T1
Quote: Sustain is a whole different thing from reverb. I'd rephrase the sentence as it suggests wrongly that there can be reverb in the bass region.- patate

1964 Ears
Thanks for the heads-up. Nice spec sheet I understand now why they state 1964-D is great for vocalists and guitar players when I see the 2kHz peak in its frequency response. I think I'm going to start saving for the 1964-T, The Quad would probably be too bassy for my taste.- patate

(Finished!!!) Review Set: UM3X, e-Q7, RE262, Triple.Fi 10, RE252, CK100, RE-Zero, Custom 3, OK1, HJE900
Quote: It's funny how audiophiles work. It seems to be all about numbers to them. Therefore, the audio track of a 1080p HD video must be first-rate. I don't want to be rude. The initiative is interesting and you've done a really hard work. But all I've read is a never-ending...- patate

Panasonic CZs (HJE900) Appreciation Thread and Pending Review
I have done a brief listening session with my RE0s / RE-Zeros / X-Capes after not having listened to them for a while. Boy what a difference! The three of them sound the same, with a thin "scooped out" sound, in comparison to the HJE900s. I can say one does certain things better than the other...- patate

Abandoning Panasonic HJE900
To the OP: I don't see the problem. You like everything but the harsh treble. You have a clip+. Just use the parametric EQ supplied with Rockbox and fix the problem. The HJE900s are fantastic once you tailor their sound to your personal taste.- patate

Sennheiser MX 980 Expression
I don't get what is supposed to be so special about these earbuds. They do have an analytical signature like say the RE0s, but the sound quality is merely average to my ears. Also, they feel cheap and not sturdy at all despite what the pictures make them look like. Definitively not worth half...- patate

1964 Ears
I believe aleki was talking about this post: Source But that means nothing, it could be someone from 1964 trying to promote their products. However if it turns out these are really good, JH Audio are going to wish they never sent their JH13 to a website that has no clue...- patate

Hifiman RE262 Initial Impressions
That was funny. Anyway, the RE252s sure have a wide soundstage compared to many other iems, but it seems to be all about width. There is almost no sense of depth or proximity when required (means when some elements are far/close in the mix - I can give you examples if needed). As a result, it...- patate
