Obscure Chinese DAPs
Looks interesting. It is marketed as a clip for sports usage and have is supposedly water proof. There's also only a single port (i.e. the audio jack) and requires it's adapter to charge and to transfer. Really looks like a ipod mini, Rather impressed with the full black OLED though. Really...- smashing

Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion
Saw some good deals on the HE-400i from some reliable stores on taobao - brand new piece going for what the used market is asking. Couldn't resist the poison and have ordered a pair. Hopefully I can get it by end of next week through consolidated shipping. Can't wait! :D- smashing

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide
I was surprised to find the rather odd configuration from the power tubes and have the nagging suspicion that it's not the same as the Mk III. Thanks for pointing me with the right configuration. Apparently the stock tube were Beijing made 4P1S. I'd probably get something similar from taobao...- smashing

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide
Quick question, are the power tubes for the LD III+ the same as the Mk III? My power tubes are starting to give me some issues on the LD III+ with buzzing and occasional absence of sound from one channel. I'm trying to find the specs for replacements.- smashing

Obscure Chinese DAPs
There's more information on the D200 on the taobao website Apparently both uses the AK4495SEQ chip. The black version use OPA2604 and JRC2114, while the gold version use MUSES8920 and MUSES8820 The website also claim that it can push 600ohm headphones... I was looking hard and long at it, but...- smashing

I am still using the default OPA604AP on the xunsound. It's mostly used along with the XDuoo-XD05, which has a better opamp imo. Not planning to opamp roll anytime soon.- smashing

Obscure Chinese DAPs
Received my Ruizu A50. It's a little black beauty with 4 buttons and a jog-dial as the main input of the device. The 4 buttons are: power (on top), return, forward and backward (on the left). Short-press the power button lock the device from accidental input during playback. The jog-dial...- smashing

Beyer DT880 (600 ohm) and Vinyl
Apart from the obvious volume issue due to the high impedence, I do find DT880/600 much easier to drive than a lot of other headphones. Even my cheap $50 solid state amp were able to give justice to the phones. I usually pair my DT880/600 with LDIII though and it worked fine.- smashing

Audiophile vs 'Gaming' headphones
For someone who claim to know nothing, you do seem to know your stuff. :P Anyways, the reason why audiophile don't review gaming headphone is because of the pre-conceived notion that gaming headphone (like other fashionable headphones) will not be value for money as compared to the more...- smashing

Music and Math Relationship
Quote: What sort of music do you listen to? 4/4 time signature is widely used in rock, blues, country, funk, and pop, and it is very typical for a listener to tap to the 2nd and 4th beats of the bar. It's not crazy in the least though. And frankly, it's more a habit than actual...- smashing
