ESS 422H
I took the face plate off one side - my pair must be later production, because the tweeter is on top. However, I am having a really difficult time reattaching the pads. There must be a trick to it, but so far, I can't figure it out. Any suggestions?- NU62

ESS 422H
As I put more hours on these I am finding that they are very dependent on the source material. Absolutely outstanding on classic 30s and 40s big band jazz recorded in mono and marginal on vocals - particularly in stereo.- NU62

ESS 422H
They definitely need a lot of break in. I probably have 70 hours on my pair and they are just starting to change for the better. Texture, separation, tonality and detail is significantly improved vs. their out of the box sound.- NU62

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
Received my ED10s yesterday. I agree that the treble is somewhat emphasized, but it is not objectionable. I would describe their sound signature as very well defined and clear, not warm, with a big soundstage. Vocals are a little recessed, maybe 5th or 6th row. For under $9.00 delivered...- NU62

AKG K340 Electrostatic Phones
Just received a mint condition K340 from an Ebay seller and did some listening this afternoon using my Kenwood Eleven MkIII receiver and a modified Sony Playstation One. The Kenwood drives them extremely well, with ample power to spare. Years ago I had a pair of Martin Logan Sequel...- NU62

Purchase Advice
Want to buy a backup amp for my RSA P-51. Have narrowed my choices down to the Cayin C5, Fiio E12A and the JDS Labs C5. Source will be a IPod Classic 7th generation and will be used primarily with iems and during travel. Am leaning toward the JDS C5, but would appreciate any comments/advice...- NU62

Torque t103z: 6 Sonic Flavours Review & Appreciation
These are really good earphones. They execute the alternate valve concept extremely well (the differences between the valves are not subtle). I am surprised they don't get more attention. Could be the price point, although I think they are very competitive at the $200 level.- NU62

Torque t103z: 6 Sonic Flavours Review & Appreciation
I took advantage of the Black Friday sale and picked up a pair of t103z's. Very well built, quality packaging and excellent customer service. With the black valves they were close to my Vsonic GR07s. Received the blue and green valves yesterday and put in an extended listening session with...- NU62

High-Efficiency speaker for a 3 watts tube amp ?
I have a pair of Tekton Wide Baffle standmounts (not in the current Tekton catalogue). I have used a Music Reference 2.5 watt single ended amp with a passive preamp to drive them with excellent results. Am presently driving them with a vintage Marantz 2226B receiver. I recommend Tekton...- NU62

Review: ZMF Modified Fostex T50RP. Superb!
When I had the ZMFs for review a year or so ago I ran them off my Kenwood Eleven III and my Pioneer SX 950. Both produced outstanding results, with the Kenwood a little more lush and romantic and the Pioneer having greater dynamic contrasts. Highly recommend that you add a vintage receiver to...- NU62

best RCA cables under $50?
Blue Jeans LC-1. I have a ton of interconnects, including some that are custom made for me and some that are just plain expensive. The Blue Jeans interconnects are by fare the best combination of price and performance. Same goes for their speaker cables. -
Review: ZMF Modified Fostex T50RP. Superb!
Second the comment about vintage receivers. My Kenwood Model Eleven III drives the ZMF Classics extremely well. Also have never had the volume control beyond 9 o'clock.- NU62

Review: ZMF Modified Fostex T50RP. Superb!
ZMFs are far superior. Better definition, better tonality, better bass, better everything. I had a pair of ATH M50s a couple of years ago and sold them. Nice headphones, but not in the same league as the ZMFs.- NU62

Review: ZMF Modified Fostex T50RP. Superb!
Haven't heard the V2, but the V1 had plenty of bass (at least for me). Think it may be a better overall choice.- NU62

Calling All "Vintage" Speaker Owners
I use Blue Jeans speaker cable (Belden 10 gauge 5T00P) on my vintage floor standing Altecs. Excellent quality and great customer service. I looked at the Blue Jeans website recently and noticed that they are now offering pin terminations for speaker cable. Recommend without hesitation.- NU62

Review: ZMF Modified Fostex T50RP. Superb!
Zach was kind enough to loan me a pair of his Classics, which are the version without the emphasized bass. I have a pair of Thunderpants (purchased via the recent group buy) and a pair of Headphile Vixens with Fostex T50 drivers, so I was curious to see how the ZMFs compared to other customized...- NU62
