New Yamaha Headphones
Welcome. Have a look at my post above, it has an in-depth review I link to which I feel is one of the best out there. I've used mine when out and about with no complaints from end users, however this review I'm referring you to says external noise is not suppressed. I don't feel these are the...- Romani

So a couple of things with the L700. My set finally received firmware 1.40 tonight, the one with the battery drain fixes. I need to test it to see if it gives me the advertised mileage. On another note, I stumbled across a review that is in depth, and whose thoughts I entirely agree with...- Romani

I have managed to temper the bass with some basic equaliser tweaks. I also feel they have absolutely settled down with burn in too. I absolutely love the sound of these babies. I have no reservations about them. They are a joy to listen to.- Romani

Awesome first impression and comparison, thank you. Based on my own experience, the harsh and grainy nature you speak of, as well as the bass being slow, are things that I found have disappeared over time. The concept of burn-in is real when it comes to these cans. So much so, I recall having...- Romani

During the time I had them, I found the E700A to be the same. I recall the bass settled with time and some equalizing, but it was definitely front and centre no matter the genre. I find this much less prevalent with the L700A. The bass is present but pleasant.- Romani

Keen to get your thoughts. The Drop Pandas were the only other cans I was considering but was put off by the comfort drawbacks that people were reporting, mainly the hot spot on top of people's heads. Loving the YH-L700A.- Romani

Cool. The volume controls are on the right earcup, below where the fabric mesh is.- Romani

Phew!...glad you are now enjoying them 😊 I'm quite sensitive to sibilance, so I have always felt their top end was more than adequate. The last time I tested a pair of Shures and Grados, I could not cope with more than 5 minutes of testing 😂 Fully agree with your commentary on their wired sound...- Romani

I've already talked about sound quite a bit earlier in this thread, so I won't dive into too much detail again. I will say the L700 sound better than the XM4 but similar to the MAX. I've tested both for about 30 minutes each. I found the Sonys muddy (but with stronger noise cancellation and...- Romani

Welcome. I didn't realise the L700 was still not available globally. I'm keen to get your thoughts once the W300s arrive. I think you will be pleasantly surprised 😊👍- Romani

I feel the W300 has way better mids and less boomy bass than the E700. Definitely a more mature sound signature in my view. The E700 however have a better sound stage due to their deeper and larger earcups. The W300 is likely to fit egg heads like mine better as I found I had to stretch out the...- Romani

So I did a more accurate test of my battery life. With all the bells and whistles switched off, 50% volume, using Aptx Adaptive, and NOT using the workaround Yamaha provided so it doesn't default to the 3D circuitry, I got 26 hours from 100% down to flat. Having said that, I don't know why, but...- Romani

A response from Yamaha finally came in, and there is good news. They were able to replicate my battery life, they know the cause and they plan to release a fix! 😉 "I have just had our engineers in Japan come back to me in regards to the enquiry I made with them on your behalf and they have...- Romani

Awesome news on your battery life. I'm using Aptx Adaptive with my Oppo Android phone. I have no idea whether AAC consumes less than APTX Adaptive does. Might have to read up on that. I'm now trying to measure battery life more accurately too. I'm up to 8 hours of use and down to 80%. Having...- Romani

On the E700, it twists off. Haven't tried on the L700 as I also have a fear of breaking them. On a different note, Yamaha Australia is currently investigating with their head office in Japan in relation to the battery life I'm seeing compared to what they claim on their site.- Romani

After using these for a while now, I can safely say their treble and bass has settled. Their sound is full and enjoyable. One thing I'm not getting is the claimed battery life, given I have all the extra bells and whistles switched off, including noise cancellation. I'm having to charge them...- Romani

I'm the same, assuming you're referring to the YH-L700A. They're back to full retail price today. They definitely pack a punch but hopefully they will settle with some break in. Most of the cans I've owned seem to.- Romani

So I took a leap of faith and purchased the YH-L700A yesterday. Zero issues with call audio, with people complimenting how clear my voice came through. No echo on their end either! I barely have to extend the headband to get the cans to fit my head. Their form factor when worn on my head is...- Romani

This article seems to have been written by a 5 year old. The model numbers are all over the place and as you progress through the article, notice how I don't say "review", you start wondering which model they are talking about.- Romani
