Sennheiser HD820
Sennheiser is a corporation, and they cumulated very well their knowledge on how to make more profit and where profit lies. :) As well as how not to lose the race and profit. Let's see if they ever make TOTL headphones again and compete with the big players today. 2.5k and up... They didn't...- fidgeraldo

Introducing the xDuoo TA-66 OTL Tube Amplifier - Now Available on Apos Audio
I (almost) always use stock...everything. But with TA-26S, I changed tubes pretty soon after I purchased it. I can compare two situations. First, with the stock tubes, some music was great, but some did not. When I changed stock tubes, everything was great. No issues with any sort of music. I...- fidgeraldo

Sennheiser HD820
What's the name of that reviewer..DMS? He said 620S are good, even great...but not excellent. Then he said 620S are definitely the best closed-back headphones Sennheiser have made. Hmm...my friend who bought 620S said that 620S are good but not at the same level as 820. I trust my...- fidgeraldo

Aegis DIY Tube Headphone Amplifier
That's cool; thanks for the info. I will look further if I can find some for my amp. Ei made quality products at the time. It wasn't as fancy-looking as Western production or Japan. But they were good. I didn't pay much attention to them at the time; they were affordable, and the dream was...- fidgeraldo

Comment by 'fidgeraldo' on listing 'Raal CA-1A TI-1b+ Filter Set'
Okay, I have a plan. Croatia has a beautiful coast. It's summer, and you need a vacation. You bring headphones...and I will cover the expenses of the flight by buying your headphones. It's sort of a trade. Both are happy...what do you say? :) Cheers!- fidgeraldo

"They’re increasingly hard to come by, so grab them while you can…." I agree!!! I love mine...even though I have TOTL headphones, 1060C will always be at the top of my list. Good Luck! Cheers!- fidgeraldo

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis
I don't know about that part, whether they stated separated DAC or not. I always use separate DACs. Would it be really foolish to have expensive headphones (gear) and then not have a DAC? But it seems this could be the territory just like cables...and whether they change the sound. :) I don't...- fidgeraldo

The discovery thread!
Haha, that's the fun part... You can go to the cafe and drink espresso... but you can also buy green beans, roast your coffee, grind the beans, pull the shot by yourself, and enjoy it, and say it lasted two seconds from one zip...but the whole memory of that one zip is muuuuuch longer. It's...- fidgeraldo

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis
Hmm...this is not from my experience...my practice besides listening via Mac is listening from CDs. But people swore that listening from a PC or Mac decreases the quality of the sound a lot. So, a Streaming device would be a must, especially when you have such a marvel of headphones. I do have...- fidgeraldo

The discovery thread!
I think Redcarmoose wrote a few years back that he has 1500 or so CDs let alone. :) Cheers! P.S. Where are you Redcarmoose? Confirm that. :) Damn...I want that! That would also mean...I have a place to store all those LPs. But..damn again...I can't find a free place to fix a turntable...- fidgeraldo

You are absolutely right about the chain! But Burson is bright  ...Violetric is warm...SPL Phonitor XE neutral/slightly warm..etc.. Everything matters in the chain and changes the sound...but... just as a note, because I've seen how a lot of folks are very, very sensitive/gentle! :)...- fidgeraldo

Unveiled: Meet the HD 620S
I have TA-26S, but there is a new version, TA-66, and it seems to be more tubey! I am happy with 26S, but 66 has really good user responses, too! And it's $50-$60 cheaper than 26S. Cheers!- fidgeraldo

I have Burson Conductor 3X Reference...and it is a great amp. But, as you probably already know, it does have a brighter sound and some headphones are not the best match. I bought it because of that, and it's just a note to remember. For example, Sennheiser HD800S is not the best match...- fidgeraldo

Shanling ET3 - Dedicated Digital CD Transport, With USB Drive and Wi-Fi Support
He(y)llo, I got ET3 today and had just a short listening session. I am using it with speakers, not headphones. As someone said above, I am also using it only as a CD transport; everything else is off. :) And my first impressions are....very positive! What immediately came to my ears was that...- fidgeraldo

Cayin HA-6A Class A KT88/EL34 Tube Headphone Amplifier
That is completely understandable... I do hear that, too; sometimes, I think 60 min is on the borderline; 90 min would be even greater. It's the same thing I noticed with Auris HA-2 SF, too. But 45-60 min would be ideal to remember to turn the amp on before listening. GL KT88 are still on the...- fidgeraldo

But if you can see (wider picture) where this is coming from or where it goes, basically, this is Sennheiser's idea for HD800S or earlier HD800. I appreciate HD800 headphones because of the sound and the genius, simple idea! Two naked drivers and a headband...HD800 Sennheiser took two drivers...- fidgeraldo
