ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)
Good point. Jack Wu did make a point to tell me that it was "transportable" but not for portable on-the-go usage. Tubes.- JerseyD

ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)
I don't know... I tried the Tube Mini at CanJam with my own Verite open and was not that impressed. Could it be the 300ohm impedance of the VO not being a good fit for the TubeMini? Of course, it may have been the noisy show conditions while wearing open back headphones. D'oh!- JerseyD

ZMF Spring Limiteds, CanJam NYC and Estimated Release Schedule for Caldera Closed and BOKEH Open!
Stunning, but I personally think the Salire stand bases should either match the wood of the upright or be black (or dark espresso brown, whichever is more complementary). Nitpicking, I know. Still stunning!- JerseyD

ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship
I used to like planars from DCA (MrSpeakers) and had the Ether 2 and still have the Aeon, although I never listen to it since realizing I enjoy dynamic drivers more (AO and VO). Listened to the Caldera at CanJam and it did not change my mind, although I would still like to do an at-home...- JerseyD

THE WATERCOOLER HEADPHONE EDITION – Headphones, Amps, DACs, and desktop/home audio related – a freewheeling discussion of gear, impressions, music, and musings.
Thanks! Caught a lucky sunbeam at my listening chair this morning. Ambered camphor burl, which I think will go better with the copper once it finally gets some more patina.- JerseyD

Well then, here’s one more for you! VO is my favorite headphone for classical and jazz. When I saw that Taj Mahal recommendation above, I immediately thought I would prefer the Atrium (my favorite for vocals, rock, blues) for that, but now I’ll have to put it to the test…- JerseyD

Having my first real listen to a different DAC in my system this morning. Been R2R-curious for a while, despite not getting along with the Schiitt Bifrost (OG) Multibit. Too many Head-Fi’ers saying that Tubes+R2R+ZMF’s=Heaven so I just had to give it a go. Had been enjoying the Geshelli J2S...- JerseyD

Not sure which you will prefer, but I'll just throw in that most reports suggest that the Vali 3 is well worth the extra $40 over the 2++- JerseyD

ZMF Caldera - New Planar Magnetic from ZMF!
I have found the Atrium (open, with the solid mesh and a touch of eq) to be very forgiving with lower quality recordings.- JerseyD

All things ZMF!
Don't own one, but heard the Violectric v222 at CanJam with the VO and AO, and I thought they were a great match. The slight warmth and bass punch were terrific with the ZMFs- JerseyD

I have just recently learned that NOS tubes may need many hours of burn-in to settle down and sound the way they should. Not saying every one will improve, but those more knowledgeable than me have told me. [Please, any tube experts, chime in here.]- JerseyD
