Shanling H7 - High-End Portable DAC/AMP/Player, Featuring new AKM AK4499EX Flagship DAC
Hi, Comparing those two devices does not sound really fair, does it ? The H7 us about 1.5x the Price of the iBasso. And the H7 has an headphone output power that is about 5x the output power of the dc-elite. It is quite obvious that it should sound better 😂 That being said, I have owned the h-7...- PenguinHeadphoner

FIIO Flagship all-in-one digital media streamer R9 Discussion & Impressions Thread
Hi, Last week I decided to go for the R9. And so far I must say that I am not disappointed :) I come from another device from Shanling. The EH-3. I think the Shanling sounded better. But it was too difficult to use. I spent so much time trying to get it work to my needs that I did not...- PenguinHeadphoner

Shanling EH3 - Desktop DAC/AMP with Wi-Fi, USB Drive Playback and Flagship ESS ES9039PRO DAC
Hi, I think you can find one for pretty cheap if you look at one of the big resellers like Son-Video.com. They just had their "braderie" (where I got the Fiio R9 and Moondrop venus headphones), so now they're offered as "reconditioned". I do not think it sounds a little shrill as BlueA...- PenguinHeadphoner

Shanling EH3 - Desktop DAC/AMP with Wi-Fi, USB Drive Playback and Flagship ESS ES9039PRO DAC
Hi, Not me. But I have had the opportunity to compare to other Fiio devices : R7, R9 especially. They both have ESS DAC's so I guess the comparison can make some sense... All I can say : sound of the EH-3 is superlative. I think the R7 and R9 cannot compete. But I had to fight so much...- PenguinHeadphoner

FiiO R7 All-In-One Desktop Android HiFi Music Player Discussion & Impressions Thread
Hi, Not entirely sure how it works, but to my understanding, if you use a device like the Fiio as a BT emitter, it will act as a "pre-amp" only. So maybe you can try to toggle the selector to see if that improves a thing or 2. Also not sure you can then adjust volume on the earbuds directly...- PenguinHeadphoner

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android
Hi, Was about to say that. I noticed a bug when you want to enter PEQ settings on 10 band EQ. But does not let you save Pre-amp gain... You have to save the settings, force stop app, relaunch and boom... Pre-amp setting working again. Glad you worked it out and thanks for sharing - PenguinHeadphoner

FIIO K19, the flagship desktop DAC and headphone amplifier
Hi, Thanks a lot. So for people like who are running Linux, we're basically screwed or doomed to use Mac or Windows. I can use Windows in Virtual Machine... But will it recognize the K19 ? That remains to be determined :frowning2:- PenguinHeadphoner

Hi, Yah... The more I see this K19 and the more I hope for Fiio to add streaming abilities and make this their next horizontal streaming device announced for september, the S15. That would sound like a killer device. But probably at a stellar price :frowning2: Probably around 2000€ And...- PenguinHeadphoner

Shanling MCD1.3 - Multifunctional CD Player
Hi, Oh... I am spreading misinformation ? OK. Writing that you can't install third party software on some of your device (EM5, EM7, EA5) is misinformation ? I do believe that is a fact. By the way that is a product I do own or have owned. Writing that your support is questionable because on...- PenguinHeadphoner

Shanling MCD1.3 - Multifunctional CD Player
Hi guys, Just to mention it : if you use Facebook and follow Shanling there, you'd be advised NOT TO POST something negative about their products. On the three last releases, I dared to ask : - 1°) Will your product be supported on the loing term ? - 2°) Is it wise to release about 36...- PenguinHeadphoner

Hi, A little disappointed in the mixed reviews about the K19. I do not own it, but I was giving it a thought... Thanks for your honest reply. Hi, Because this is the way it is :) Go figure : the cheaper version has more features... That feature will be added to SCD1.3... one day. If they do not forget to add it.
