Cable Upgrade - Fact or Fiction?
Not sure if I agree with the boosted soundstage, to be honest. From my experience a silver cable does sound more airy compared to a copper cable, which gave me the impression of a wider soundstage. In hindsight it might have been a false impression, but when it comes to audio, what is isn't as...- phnx90

Westone w40 short review, includes pictures.
Agree with your review. These would have been a solid 9/10 or even 9.5/10 had they toned down the mid bass a bit for the sub bass. Because of the lack of sub bass, I find the overall bass experience rather "hollow", compared to the SE846, which really shines on this particular point. I do...- phnx90

Cable Upgrade - Fact or Fiction?
Purchased two cables for my SE846. Labkable Super Nova Mk III Shure microphone cable Bought the former for boosted bass, bought the latter for the mic (if anyone knows a good copper upgrade cable that comes with a mic, please let me know because I can't find any). Didn't notice much of a bass... -
Westone 4 Impressions and Reviews Thread
I had mine upgraded to the W40. A lot more bass than I remember the W4R having. Purchased the Shure SE846 to complement the W4R's more neutral sound, but now I just have two IEMs that try to do the same thing. W40 is kinda redundant now, so it's gone back into the box. Miss the W4R sound...- phnx90

Shure SE846: A New In-Ear Flagship From Shure. Finally! (Impressions p26-28)
Interested in an answer to this myself. Looking for a nice copper cable with a mic for my 846. The Labkable upgrade cable I'm using is nice, but no mic makes it annoying, which means I have to use the Shure mic cable instead when I'm out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- phnx90

Oh I did love that part in Dead Space 2. Didn't play 3 because it had micro transactions and I thought it'd ruin the atmosphere. Dead Space 1 had that part nailed, since by the time 2 came along, we all knew what to expect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- phnx90

Bioshock 2 also had the most haunting moment in the series (to me), when SPOILER: you play as a little sister. The world through her eyes and the accompanying music for that scene was spectacular. The game was worth playing for that one moment alone, to me. Personally loved the good ending...- phnx90

Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread
Ah. Well good luck...let us know how that goes. For some reason, that reminds me of when I switched to the Shure mobile cable for my SE846, because I was too paranoid to bring both the 846 and a copper upgrade cable overseas on a business trip...the sound quality was really poor and it didn't...- phnx90

Gameplay-wise Bioshock 2 was by far the smoothest. It's no Call of Duty as far as gunplay goes, but it is the smoothest out of the three. Infinite only really brought about the skyhook and true ADS but it was not dissimilar to the original in my opinion. As far as story goes, I think the good...- phnx90

I too found Bioshock Infinite to be a little disappointing on the gameplay front. Bioshock 2 actually did this best. Incidentally, I still think Bioshock 2 is criminally underrated. I blame circlejerking for this to some degree, but the over emphasis on "new". Bioshock 1 may have been fresh...- phnx90

You've described perfectly why I didn't like the UE900. Was far happier with my W4R, which got replaced with the W40, and now my SE846. It may be that I've just gotten accustomed to Westone warmth in general. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- phnx90

I've already tweaked it, it makes the DoF look very out of place. You're the opposite of me then haha I actually like DoF in games, provided it's implemented well (eg Crysis). Can't deal with narrow FOV though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- phnx90

Doesn't quite fit your needs, but I take it you've tried the Razer Orochi? BT + batteries when wireless, can be wired if you want higher dpi. Takes up only one USB port. Fairly small, so you basically only only really use it with a claw grip. Not that expensive either, and looks like it could be...- phnx90
