Man, I don't think they sound even remotely similar. Maybe the extra sizzle on the SE is JUST enough to bother my ears and the difference IS small. But Susvara is WAY warmer than SE to my ears.

Yeah, all my previous issues with the tonality are no longer an issue. This is the best bang for the buck DAP I've ever purchased.

If buying parts made everyone a 5 star chef that would mean we all have equal skills - parts don’t make a tuning at all - I think it’s John’s ability to know what sounds good and how to custom tune each headphone for each owner and the fact that he warranty’s and will retune that makes JM Audio...

Yeah, forget what I said last night. This is a wonderful sounding DAP and performs well beyond it's price. I should have access to Shanling M5 Ultra and the Onix joint soon. I'll post some impressions/comparisons.

I'm going to put it through it's paces against some big dogs today. sp3000, sp3000t, dx260 and one of the two top sonys. Looking forward to it. Last night with Sony MDR Z1R I really started to fall in love with this tonality.

Are you hearing roughly the same upper mids and treble of the dx260? I’m not.
