...the Gustard R26 running on LAN. I had been using the Shaped Dither setting in favor of the TPDF and hadn't tried these other noise shaping filters (the vast choices that are available in HQ Player are overwhelming and forced me to just "settle" on Shaped after many hours of A B listening...

...in that regard to my tastes. Sometimes I do like a little more bass, but you can do that with analog EQ like a Schiit Loki or you can use software PEQ if you want to get fancier. Convolution filters are completely unnecessary though. If someone enjoys them, there’s nothing wrong with that.

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

Can one enjoy the LCD-5 without convolution filters? Or was it so badly designed that it needs these prosthetics to work well?

HQPlayer Impressions and Settings Rolling Thread

Depends on your settings. But many of the filters don't fit in CPU caches, which means that RAM speed becomes critical.

...be improved upon though, and clearly Sean thought so too, which is why he's doing more IEM research right now. JM-1 with Harman 2018 OE filters does indeed sound better for my taste and anatomy than Harman IE 2019. But we're still advocating for Harman, just a different approach to Harman...

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread

Its a nice looking unit I personally would use it on the TT2 instead of HMS for the reason its internal filters then also filter other mains noise from entering the DAC.

This is an older article with measurements of the various filters and dithers that are available in HQ Player. This may have been posted in the thread earlier but I just stumbled onto it so thought I would post the link again...

Would you guys publish the actual methodology and math of this work in an article on Arxiv or make a reproduction package on GitHub with the Python script or whatever used to do the described calculation? At least one day? Or is it already published somewhere but one needs to be in a certain...

Or.. finally KZ read my mod post and change the filter with thicker one. But i don't think they punch micro hole on the center of the filter for bass airflow, that is very important for bass quality. See below, very similar FR with my modded castor bass :

At the moment, Dr. Olive seems to have adopted our DFHRTF approach for over-ear headphones, although it remains to be seen if he'll...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Great idea. Being the silly audiophile that I am I’ll have to find the best sounding caps and hope they come in the appropriate value for Kraken.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

There are inline highpass filters one can get. I had some for my tiny speakers. Harrison Labs and Shure makes some. So, you'd get an inline highpass of whatever value (I'd say 90Hz for your case) and put them on the Kraken's inputs.

It is very difficult to watch @Resolve 's review or read @FcConstruct 's review of the Dunu DaVinci and not get the impression that they believe JM-1 should supplant Harman-inspired targets. It is fair to say that I overstated how you have represented JM-1, and I regret phrasing it that way...

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More

I've found that filters have an effect on the reverb in music more than anything else. Depending on the style you listen to, it might be unnoticeable.

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More

Technically, he’s not wrong. The filtering really only affects ultra-high frequencies. Quite arguably, it is extremely difficult to detect the differences, if your equipment can even reproduce said differences. -Ed

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More

According to JoeBloggs if I understand him correctly it is near impossible to tell if the filters are working, if that is what he meant I do not see why they are put there in the first place.

since its only in beta and I had so much fun with the last update, I will just wait for DAP to offer this one. It works now and since Filters don't work still, I am not missing out on anything I can't wait for. I tried the reset cache and restart option.
