My error. I’m drawing a blank, as to what single BA I’m confusing the Explorer with. Answ: FiiO FA7 & Dunu SA6 Ultra. The lack of decay and note weight in the sub bass response is my primary reason. Even on hybrids/tribids, the infamous BA timbre can sometimes hit me the wrong way.

I’ll never entertain an all BA or single BA IEM again, just not my cup of tea. So the Explorer never showed up on my radar. I doubt that I’m alone, in my distaste, for the platform.

I specifically keep the Legatos for the gym; where the loud environment is not conducive to critical listening and I play energetic tunes, to keep me pumped up. So under these conditions, an IEM with the Legato's pros (Low end and rich vocals) and cons (not the most detailed or airy), can shine.
