Nope, I was lucky to grow up on Terschelling, which is an island up here in the North... I had a fantastic youth over there, as it's one big playground, with some very nice (for Dutch standards) beaches as well... When I was looking at your (very nice and classy btw) Italy pics some time ago...- Kerouac

And while you're at it, you might also like to check Beth Gibbons (singer of Portishead) latest album I do love Portishead, but this is some very fascinating listening trip as well imho :) Oh, he does wants it!!! And he probably also already realizes that by now! +1 The Noirs...- Kerouac

Nice one!!! For me this hobby is mainly about listening in the most various ways to various kinds of music. I like to think that I collect signatures, instead of iems/headphones. When a signature brings something new to the table, then I can really enjoy the strenghts of that signature...- Kerouac

Effect Audio x Elysian Acoustic Labs New Release | PILGRIM:NOIR - Dark Sophistication
Nice review ▲ I've got to say that the Noir is starting to grow on me over here as well... An imo beautiful/classy design, superb (Eros S Noir) cable and a (most important part of course) very addictive, balanced sound signature :) Really, what's not to like about the result of this Elysian +...- Kerouac

I think @saldsald did a great job over here, describing the differences between the 2 Pilgrims :)- Kerouac

And as I've just posted this pic in 2 other threads, I thought: why not here? Love 'em both so far => definitely overperformers (price / performance ratio) in my book! :)- Kerouac

Although 'joy' might probably even be a bit of an understatement here, this setup would be my first choice at this moment... Lotoo Paw Gold Touch + Tahsin Sevgel Model2 + EA Code 24c = pure audio delight to my ears! :)- Kerouac

Tahsin Sevgel Audio Devices Model2
I really liked that new added essay => thanks for sharing! It gives some nice and interesting background insight on the development and tuning of the Model2 itself. Besides that I also liked the 2 new pics over there, which seem to 'breath' pure authenticity and (ciem) craftmanship imho. In the...- Kerouac

Now, if I'm not mistaken, isn't that the same room where this man... usually listens to his Noir for relaxation, after his work is done?- Kerouac

I seriously wouldn't know. I don't think I have an EA cable both hardwired and in TermX over here. So there's no way I can A-B test that myself. But maybe somebody else over here who has done such a test, or else maybe @JordonEA could tell something about that  All I know is that this...- Kerouac

Two days ago I received the Pilgrim (retail) + Noir (sample) myself. And as I also just finished reading the first 20 pages over here... ...I thought it might be time to check in at this hotel thread now  Although they haven't had that much listening time (only a couple of hours)...- Kerouac

This afternoon I have received (a big thanks to EA / @JordonEA for that!) the 2 Pilgrims. The first one to arrive was the (sample without a box) Pilgrim Noir... and approx one hour later the (retail boxed) Pilgrim as well... So, I guess for the upcoming days I've got some serious listening...- Kerouac

One of the greatest rock voices ever indeed! I do like Soundgarden as well, but when I was in a bar many years ago, and heard this song for the very first time... ...played out of a jukebox that they had over there. It was like I was struck by lightning => goosebumps all over my body at that...- Kerouac

Yep, 58K and only 400mb free space left at this moment  But the LPGT still runs smooth... Most of my favorite albums in hq: ± 800 DSD [64] / WAV [32] files ± 3.000 FLAC [24b] files ± 7.500 FLAC [16b] files and the rest is 'simply' mp3@320. Now, maybe the mp3 files disqualify me...- Kerouac

Oh shoot, just when I thought I could get away with the (although I take care of my gear and I do prefer colormatching with iems+cables) OCD topic. Now you come up with numerology instead  I always try to end on a 3, 7 or 8 myself when I add up the numbers... For example: on my...- Kerouac

Now, this reminded me somehow of the (imo fantastic) movie ''Barfly'', ft. a (still young) Mickey Rourke playing the writer Charles Bukowski That movie also starts and ends with the same kind of scene => going full circle ⭕ But hey, you probably already have seen that one, based on the fact...- Kerouac

That will be the Eros S (special Noir edition). I have the Eros S AE over here and imo that's one of EA's finest cables regarding price/performance ratio :)- Kerouac

THE WATERCOOLER HEADPHONE EDITION – Headphones, Amps, DACs, and desktop/home audio related – a freewheeling discussion of gear, impressions, music, and musings.
Yeah, this unfortunatelly seems to be the case in general nowadays. But also in the iem landscape there are still sometimes exceptions (good sound at an affordable price) to that rule I guess  A wonderful band indeed! And guess who was also impressed with that same band in their...- Kerouac

Yep, it's all (magic) in the name of course! When I read that the Grado GH2 was made out of exotic Cocobolo wood... I knew I just had to check it out (just kidding of course) for myself :joy: Dang it!!! Now it seems that I have some extra research to do for that dac as well  Now...- Kerouac

Well, I was just out 'On the Road' (again) But now I'm back home  Hmmm, that could go either way I guess: I mean like... or like... In the meantime my brain is still processing the thoughts about that suggestion... and I'm afraid that that could also still take a little while...- Kerouac
