Are you sure those are the angled alcantara? What you’re describing sounds like the OG alcantara.

Did you find it was worth upgrading from classic+? I jumped straight to ultimate myself.

I run an all ultimate chain. They are not bright or overwhelming, they are very clear.

Have you compared to the standard edition PSM156?

It is possible, but it will affect the performance of both headphones.

If you at all have the space or inclination, I would encourage you to try your Bliss & 465 with your Holo gear separated (completely destacked Bliss and May PSU), as particularly the May PSU gives off a lot of EM interference which to my ear does flatten the staging a bit.

It’s allegedly about 75% performance of Serene. Never heard it myself so I can’t say.

I use an 8 wire Fehu from Viking Weave across all my main headphones, a remarkable cable for sure. Can’t recommend Viking Weave enough for cables that don’t just sound great, but look incredible too!

The May is definitely not a bright or harsh DAC, especially in NOS. Make sure you let it warm up properly before making a judgement call (in my opinion 24 hours).

I've just switched from NAA to direct usb connection and that's fixed the stuttering. Not sure what the limiting factor would be in wireless transimission since I'm very closed to my wifi point.

I'm having difficulties now running filters I used to run no problem. I'm wondering if it's to do with computer hard drive memory remaining or other services running that are slowing things down. I disabled the DAC correction and that has helped things, but it's still freezing every 3-4 seconds.

Hooray! Thanks for your advice, the outbound packets look to have been routing to the Local Area Connection instead of Wifi. Disabling the Local Area Connection fixed it!

I've disabled roon's bridge/ready output to the red, and as I'm on Red OS, I only have one option selected at a time. I believe the issue lies somewhere this the NAA daemon, as per my original post, i'm pretty sure I've troubleshooted all the basics.
