Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

That mostly confirms my suspicion about the driver, thanks.it will be interesting when you try LDAC. Forgot about the low volume EQ. Is it enjoyable? I mostly listen at lower volumes. Ambient sounds interesting to. Any idea on how it handles wind?

The XM5 case definitely drains way to fast. I suspect the quick charge is to blame.

I tried both the Live Pro 2 (Flex 3) and Live Free 2 (Bud 3) and while I preferred the battery life of the Pro model I preferred the fit and design of the free model. Outside of these areas the biggest difference was the 10mm driver ( Free 2) versus the 12mm driver (Pro 2). I have to assume...

Awesome! How is it using LDAC? Any improvement over just AAC? How it for details and dynamic sound? If you have TWS to compare how does it compare to what you own or know? I owned the older Live Pro 2 and Live Free 2 and while I liked them I found them to lack a bit in detail and dynamics...

I want to see how the JBL lineup does. So far a few reviews and reddit are appearing but nothing I would call very legitimate yet. For Jabra if nothing better has come along as they drop in price I will possibly buy a second pair. DHRME mentioned the stock tuning is adjusted on the G2 and they...

I will stick with the Gen 1 Elite 10, nothing sounds like it has any big improvement. Sorry to hear they are bowing out though as I really like the Elite 10. May pick the Gen2 when they start to drop in price. Used them today and they really are stable as compared to the XM5. The only issue is...

Alas us Canadians rarely get those kind of excellent deals and for some reason never at Walmart... but every once in a while we get a sweet deal.nothing like the States though....

Unless the Libery 4 SE is different than the original Liberty 4 I think it's 2 dynamic drivers. At least that's what they were when I bought my pair. Still darn good price! 😀

With the new EQ, I find the XM5 to sound pretty decent with or without ANC. I have issues with them, but I do like their sound.

ANC is back and forth between Sony and Jabra. Downtown and on the train the XM5 is better. Mowing the lawn the Elite 10 was significantly better. Over all I think the XM5 wins though. Phone calls are the opposite I have had several complaints from family when using the XM5 is noisy situations...

I ended up buying AZLA ASMR tips which have been pretty good. They come loose a bit compared to the Sony Hybrid tips but have a mesh which I think is important. Panasonic has tips available for the Technics AZxx line which also work and have an ear wax protector. The looseness is likely my...

I use ANC outside and they just block most of the wind automatically. The Jabra was a wind setting bit it just tries to detect wind and turn on as needed. So in gusty conditions it's turning on and off all the time so when off, if there is still wind the mic picks it up. So just not great...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

My return window is ending soon. I have more left right glitches than any other TWS when down town. But I dropped the case and got scratched so feeling uncomfortable returning something I obviously damaged even if its only superficial. I would say the Elite 10 is more reliable and offers better...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

This is my curve on the Elite 10, so I had done something bit like that spike and just didn't think to try it on the XM5. The bass bump shows I still love a bit of added bass. @soullinker20 I would say for phone calls and things like Teams etc the Elite 10 are the better option for mic...

Giving your setting a whirl and that makes these sound more like the Elite 10 but with a bit more warmth. That brings Patricia Barbers vocals right up to the edge of sibilant and all the delicate drumkit work in songs from Smash right up to where they should all be. Thanks for sharing that! I...

That's how I feel about them pretty much to a tee for sound. The wind function is a big thing for me because there is a lot of wind where I live. If the Elite 10 could manage wind as good as the XM5, I honestly would just stick with them as I actually like their sound just a bit more. So been...

Here is my EQ, I am pretty bad in the upper frequencies so this might be a bit to aggressive, buy a good starting point. I personally find the XM5 a bit brighter than the XM4.

I like them but in all honesty even at a lower price (I did open box as well) I find the SQ a bit to safe at times. I bought Azla ASMR tips and those have helped but not by a ton. I also have find them a bit flaky, one ear cutting out when out and about. It happens more in LDAC but even happens...

    Sony WF-1000XM5

I have had Xelastic tips in the past. Very unique material that mold to the ear better than normal silicone. But it does get deformed easily which why I went the ASMR route. Having said that, I don't get as much suction action, so on my walk/jog today I ended up adjusting the TWS a couple times...

Flavor of the month / new toys cause the hype train. It always happens. But as pointed out this can also just be a personal preference thing as well. I have bought products that were reviewed well and accurately, that I just didn't like personally.

    Sony WF-1000XM5

Got the AZLA ASMR tips today. As comfy as the original Sony hybrid tips with a bit more isolation and these protect the nozzle. Will have 2 AB a bit one day to see the difference in sound. Early differences are maybe more bass, not sure about mids a treble. These fit very well. Expensive...

Wonder if there will ever be a Libery 4 Pro? I don't think that for factor will fly anymore though, which may explain why it hasn't dropped yet.

Sometime to many options make things confusing and confuses results. Turns out I had turned on the spatial audio on the Elite 10 and it affected my initial comparisons between the XM5 and Elite 10. That feature really does affect the sound, making the Elite 10 sound thin in my opinion. Once I...
