    CanJam Shanghai 2024 Impressions Thread

I trust @HONEYBOY , he's part of the Head-Fi Elite and has tons of experience with Summit-Fi. Also, from what I've heard from someone I also trust is that it's more dynamic, and FR slightly more up front in the upper mid/ low treble but the sub bass is also more prominent vs midbass, so it...

    NEW HIFIMAN Susvara Unveiled!

I am half bat half human and can totally hear the THD!!! Joking of course.. or am I. Anyway great work as always with the science & also reassuring the fact that sub 2% at a loud SPL is perfectly fine. People need to realize that easily audible THD would in most cases be an egregious number...

Watercooler Tour Thread - (New eligible participants welcome PM me for details.) - See second post for active tours.

You rock! By the way I have the AME kit but have no clue who it goes to next - can't seem to find the thread/ instructions and believe this is involved with Musicteck. Can DM me if it's more simple :beerchug:

The Official 64 Audio Thread | apex & tia Technologies

I think I was one of the first to mention use of these tips back in late fall last year - for me it's undisputably the best tip for Volur for my preferences :) Graphs also show that the treble is more linear with em. Linearizing the treble really helps with the timbre and clarity push, but it...

The Watercooler -- Impressions, philosophical discussion and general banter. Index on first page. All welcome.

I wish more could hear IEX1, it has fabulous bass. Very colored sound. Maybe I can arrange a Watercooler tour and maybe group buy at a very great price if some care to hear it. Very intrigued, can you share who sells this or any way to get in contact? KSE IEM has always been the Ultimate Summit...

Fabulous review! Surprised it didn't hit 4.5 stars for you as I know this is a mainstay in your collection, but I definitely agree with everything you pointed out. It's a must in an enthusiast's collection :)

    NEW HIFIMAN Susvara Unveiled!

It is true, it's something I respect tremendously from HiFiMAN and why I really enjoy most their products. Audio-Technica also adopted the "near" full open back idea with ADX5000, and are currently evolving that. Even something like the HD800 is in theory a ~75% open back headphone.

    Elysian Annihilator 2023

My experience Re Feiwan vs Anni23. Feiwan is more dynamic (basically a top 3 dynamic set) and out of the box it's perhaps more versatile than Anni23 as it's easy to drive across multiple gear. I do find the Anni23 to scale to higher levels with better upstream gear (and especially a bit more...

    Precog's IEM Reviews & Impressions

Dunu Glacier is awesome. The FR Target is still not my thing but super well done and still enjoyable with many genres. Bit spicy, but the techs at the price make even some top tier stuff sound muffed.

    HiFiMan Susvara

A trick to making this an easier job is to line in two clips into the grooves and to press the remaining two using a credit card. This allows you to push the tab into place while sliding the card between the baffle and underside of the pad.

Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk

I rank both as top candidates as far as bass quality goes in today's market. Z1R and Feiwan would be up there too. I'd even go as far to say that these sets outclass most summit-fi sets in bass too (Anni23, Jewel, Storm, RN6, XE6, etc) Volur: Its bass is more macrodynamic with a muscular sense...

    Elysian Annihilator 2023

I prefer the Singularity because it's more realistic in tuning and dynamics are superior to M9, but the M9 has the edge in imaging/ staging and a generally more open sound. M9 has darker mids, Singularity mids are very nicely in line with IEF target, which can sometimes be a bit more tiring...

The Hugo2 is much richer and full sounding that Hugo 1 so it should sound sublime :)

    Elysian Annihilator 2023

We're using the same setup to the tee haha. Actually, I recently swapped out AMP11 in favor of AMP12W, but still very similar I think we have similar tastes! Considering you picked up my Caldera too :)

    Elysian Annihilator 2023

Great review as always and incredible looking pics. Anni23 is definitely a looker! Glad you appreciated your time with this IEM. I know it may not have been up your tuning alley, but figured you'd still be able to enjoy :beerchug:

Frequency response at the ear drum

That’s exactly the point I was making :) There are many more outliers beyond the objective measurement at play, that could yield a better experience with a different calibrated vehicle/ IEM. Like you mention, the suspension, the brakes, are all very crucial secondary components (think eartip...

Frequency response at the ear drum

Good lord, too much science up in here! I jest… but really I think there’s a couple factors people don’t talk about which breaks down critical analysis to a very efficient degree. 1. Volume-dependent HRTF I hate that this is a thing, but it’s probably the biggest contributing factor to...
