Audeze - Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v63 and HQ v107 beta on June/12/24)

Here I thought I read somewhere that the dongle was to use 5GHz. Then again, BLE would explain a lot. It would explain the long battery life. It would explain why no simultaneous connection is possible when they use a standard Bluetooth SoC. Since Multipoint, by design, doesn't allow...

My bad. I thought we were talking about Gadgetry. I don't know how I got it confused. Probably saw another preview screen and confused your's with it.

He didn't get free samples though. Wouldn't a sales person profit somehow from what he's selling? Maybe he's just hyped, this causes a positive bias.

Audeze - Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v63 and HQ v107 beta on June/12/24)

Penrose and Maxwell (many other ANCs and gaming headsets as well) don't have a direct line on the drivers, which means that some sort of ADC-DAC pipe is necessary, which comes at a quality loss. The dongle directly transmits the data to the DAC digitally, so there's no loss given the right codec...

Audeze - Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v63 and HQ v107 beta on June/12/24)

I'm not sure if that's really a soundstage issue tough, not EQ related. Creative THX does some trickery where you always hear every footstep. But that doesn't mean a wider soundstage, does it? You could have some open backs and with a good (music) soundstage and still not hear the footsteps...

Now they say 2023-03-06 for both versions. Perhaps, they have preordered a large enough stock for the previous orders? In the German Proshop, they've stopped listing it.

I read this too late. I guess it'll be a surprise whether international retailers fulfill their xBox variant preorders or if we have to wait till March, unless there's an option to switch to the PS version. I only chose the xBox version because they claimed an earlier shipment date while the PS...

Audeze - Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v63 and HQ v107 beta on June/12/24)

Here's one more question regarding the firmware: While I'm optimistic about the range, can the reconnect voice announcements be disabled on the Maxwell? The Penrose reconnects were not only frequent, but the announcements also made them frustratingly annoying, especially when you went into a...

Audeze - Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v63 and HQ v107 beta on June/12/24)

There were some BT stability issues. Mine regularly hung up/freezed on BT and had to be rebooted. At first, I thought it would be an issue with the simultaneous connection but I figured that it was just BT. Initially, it was also one of the reasons why I bought them. So I really wonder what made...

Audeze - Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v63 and HQ v107 beta on June/12/24)

That's unfortunate for those users who would like to use external DACs on occasion. May I ask what the reasoning behind this is? Is it just for adjusting the input to your frequency response curve?
