    ZMF Aegis Official Thread

Oh yeah - that makes sense! The decay is one thing that really stands out between it and the WA23 and Envy. And that's regardless of the tubes, although the set you sent me sounds even more spacious while still keeping that longer decay. It's like the notes are all flowing into one another, yet...

Duly noted on the Caldera ultra perf pads. I've become a fan of the way the Caldera suedes sound and feel. Have yet to try the suede ultra perfs, but will order some when I get my VO. Beautiful blackwood VO btw! Deciding whether to go silkwood or blackwood 🤔

Listening to the Aegis this evening with Caldera (OWL trio jazz album - double bass, sax and acoustic jazz guitar) and it is awesome. May DAC helps feed it the realism. The decay, cohesiveness and punch of the bass is even better than the Envy. I'm preferring it over everything else I own. These...

A total masterpiece. It looks beautiful and unique. I'm leaning towards silkwood, sound-wise. @Pharmaboy really sells it ;) I like the look of silkwood too but blackwood is my fave VO straight up wood look. Shoud be covered either way with my amps. Currently my AO and AC sounds great on...

I have seen what you quoted, but appreciate the effort, thank you! So your perfect match is the redwood? For me I'm deciding between blackwood, redwood, silkwood and the only one I've heard, a camphor burl set.

Beautiful looking wood. I actually like the variance. Yin and Yang. The silkwood sound is one I think I'd really enjoy.

Very cool! Yeah, I think that'd be the same for my tastes. Have you shared a picture of your set?

This is very helpful, thank you! I've now looked back in the thread and it seems the silkwood is what would hit my preferences well. I love the look of the blackwood probably the most though, so that's why I was hoping it might be a good fit for me, sound-wise as well. I had a VC in a...

For those that own a VO in blackwood, how do they differ in sound versus the stock sapele or other woods?

ZMF Spring Limiteds, CanJam NYC and Estimated Release Schedule for Caldera Closed and BOKEH Open!

Yup, just like others have said, every experience I've had has given me total respect and 100% faith in ZMF. The most important thing is how a company handles things like this and they always make things right. Edit - I'm sure that's frustrating, especially after the wait. But rest assured...

    ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship

I've gone back and forth on whether or not I'm an actual John Mayer fan, but this album, Battle Studies, ("Edge of Desire" in particular) sounds phenomenal on the Atrium. Atrium's organic, analog vibe sounds is perfectly matched for these kind of drum, guitar, bass and vocal tones. Like audio...

ZMF Spring Limiteds, CanJam NYC and Estimated Release Schedule for Caldera Closed and BOKEH Open!

Sweet! I've been talking with Christian about it for a little while and there's one in the classifieds I've been eyeing. May go for it! Christian and @Alenotta even like it with the Caldera and say it brings a rich but dreamy quality to it (Christian's words there).

Very cool! Was that a AC set that was on one of the sales, or is that a custom set? The wood of that looks so rich. How's it look in person?

Eeeesh. I'm so tempted by Fernweh. And then I remember... I have Amphitrite already and I'm good. Listening right now on the Envy and it's awesome. Atrium, I missed you.
