Sony Walkman custom firmware (non-Android)
I wrote a review of the MDR-MV1 here: https://www.audiodiscourse.com/2024/03/sony-mdr-mv1-headphones-review.html While the peak is present in the treble in measurements and it's there in some tracks, it doesnt bother me really ever in the stuff I listen to -- even when I listen to music with...- antdroid

Sony Walkman custom firmware (non-Android)
I am playing around with tuning again. I am now liking WM1Z + MX3 + High Gain + PMV2 (although I havent tried it with 1 yet). As for Storm, yes, it does support it pretty well. For some of the tuning options, it does reduce the dynamics, but I think that's more the tuning than the power...- antdroid

Symphonium Titan - Impressions and reviews
I have been using the Titan with the WM1A with MrWalkman firmwares (both DMP-Z1 and WM1Z versions), and it seems to do fine with it. Sony tuning has always been more warmer than most, especially with the DMP-Z1 and WM1Z, but it still sounds decent with Titan. I prefer Titan with my Questyle M15i...- antdroid

It's been a long time since I've ordered from there, but I did used to review stuff from their store. I believe they, like some other stores in China, have specific pickup dates per week for DHL orders.- antdroid

This is the impression my wallet thanks you for, as someone not ready to buy a new headphone yet. :D :D :D And then there's this one.... I also have a demo loaner unit of the Caldera Closed in (along with the Atrium Closed and Bokeh) and man, the CC is fantastic! I wish it was 100grams lighter...- antdroid

I've had the wonderful opportunity to test-drive the three latest ZMF Closed-Backs and put together my initial set of comparisons of the three here: https://www.audiodiscourse.com/2024/06/zmf-closed-backs-initial-comparison.html Thanks Zach for the opportunity! HiFiMan Susvara
To be fair, I do listen to my MDR-MV1 probably more often than I do the Susvara, but that's mostly because it's conveniently connected to my docking station and I grab for it when I watch videos and quick listens on my computer as opposed to my Susvara which is only connected to my music...- antdroid

I believe Holo recommends putting the PSU in the middle if you are going to stack their units on each other. For the Bliss amp, they also recommend a distance height too, which is like double the current feet size on their units. I have my Spring 3 at the bottom and Bliss on top, but I bought...- antdroid

Symphonium Titan - Impressions and reviews
I've been running Titan off the Questyle M15i with my Samsung Flip 5 and iPad Mini 6 and it sounds quite good. I don't even need to toggle the gain switch to high either. With my Flip, it gets plenty loud at 50% volume meter on low gain with 4.4mm balanced cables. The M15i has a nice neutral...- antdroid

You mean the opportunity to test out $10k of amazing sounding headphones that now you wanna buy/keep? (my wife won't like that) The Caldera Closed sounds so great. I can't believe it's a closed back. I loved the open version a lot and have considered buying one to pair with my Susvara, but this...- antdroid

Unique Melody Bone Conduction Family (MEST&MEXT and their siblings) Announcement and Impression Thread.
I think it does. A lot of folks I know, including myself, think it's the best one because of its unique qualities like its soundstage its character. The later ones may be a bit more tonally accurate in some ways and more refined and polished but they don't have the raw sound that the original had.- antdroid

Sony Walkman custom firmware (non-Android)
I was just saying this on a discord server a few hours ago.. re holding the WM1A after not using it for years... It's really the ideal size for my hands. It feels great, has a sleek and polished look, screen is appropriately sized, and the UI is wonderful. If they just remade this with slightly...- antdroid

Yea that's a problem limitation with anything bluetooth. The CODEC compression reduces dynamics. It's not as bad with LDAC, but the other codecs are much more noticeable.- antdroid

Symphonium Titan - Impressions and reviews
Just tried out Titan with the GoPods and it works pretty well. On my Samsung Flip 5, I using about 75-85% of the volume meterwith Roon Arc app. On other TWS adapters I've owned, I don't think the Titan would get loud enough. Other than that, sound is pretty good with these adapters.- antdroid

Sony Walkman custom firmware (non-Android)
i also just got a WM1A again, and got the custom firmware installed on it. I am digging the Midnight Neutral + J3 + PlusV2 + high gain setting right now. Sounds pretty good with the Symphonium Titan and Subtonic Storm. I am pushing the upper ends of the WM1A's volume limits, but the CFW's high...- antdroid

how much power do you really need? some DAPs get well over 1W now. It's still an IEM at the end of the day, and I say this as an owner of the Subtonic Storm, the most inefficient IEM that I am aware of (not counting the shure e-stats or the Soranik XMEMS stuff). The majority of what people are...- antdroid
