Eletech Cables Official Impressions & Discussions Thread
Aristotle and Euclid Well was able to finally put some quality time with the Aristotle and Euclid and do some back-to-back listening with these 2 cables, the Plussound Coaxial Copper+ and Hybrid+ (don't own the Silver+) and Eletech's Ode To Laura (OTL) and Sonnet of Adam (SoA) Apologies up...- NJoyzAudio

No. Those look to be short plates The Long plates that top mica is usually close to or under the getter flashing, and you can see they are physically longer as in this photo that I had to go out and find for you so you can see the same angle as your photo above- NJoyzAudio

The actual size of the plates (Electrodes) inside the tube Most early construction were long plates ( was trying to see if the specs called out the actual lengths but they vary by manufacturer) and then in later years many (not all) swtiched to short plates, citing better materials for the same...- NJoyzAudio

Reposting the chart from Renexx as its one of the clearest examples out there Quadrant being this chart has 4 boxes. If you look, I used his words at the top of each box are in my explanation you referenced in your reply above Some of the tubes in each of the 4 boxes are sky high now in price...- NJoyzAudio

WailingBanshee Congrats on your E80cc, and yes those do look like Tungsram manufactured tubes. Interested in hearing your thoughts on the Vintage Sylvania tubes (in your photo I can make out the yellow shield/s/lightning bolt of the original Sylvania logo) And agree that changing out the...- NJoyzAudio

Ultron 5 IMO, your taste in music has a common theme, if the bass isn't present and a little bit forward, its going to sound thin. Classic rock artist you listed, to your taste in blues relies on a solid bass line and bass kick drum presence. I do not think the current Gold Lions which others...- NJoyzAudio

Mudguardian Want to just state again we all hear differently and are all chasing a specific sound signature, so what I say may NOT match the sound you are looking for. My suggestion is get to know the stock tubes, what you like and did not like, and I see you have rolled some tubes already...- NJoyzAudio

Ultron 5 Will start by saying we all are looking for a specific sound signature so don't let what I write keep you from trying or discussing with those who have. There are the original NOS Gold Lions, and now there are modern repop/reissue versions but not made by the original manufacturer...- NJoyzAudio

Betula Thanks again for a great write up! I agree with you except your comment that the Mazda's might be better for Orchestral Pieces or similar type of music. I enjoy my Mazda 6V6G ST (shoulder tubes or what is always referred to as "Coke Bottle" shaped for the newbies here) more than I do my...- NJoyzAudio

dpterfy32 While I know burn-in is the start of many religious wars here on Head-fi, I do believe in it, as just about everything I've used if it sounds good at the start of the process, and I do NOT ever sneak in listens during the burn in process, at the end when I compare notes I've made from...- NJoyzAudio

TheAbyss2022 Blue glow in power tubes is NOT uncommon, and Betula and I had an exchange a few pages back in this forum about this. There are a lot of sites out there that talk about this, but here is a good one that separates fact from a lot of fiction out there...- NJoyzAudio

Dpeterfy32 Warrenpchi is correct, I want to get between 72 and 96 hours on them before doing critical listening. Then I will be swapping back and forth between OTL, SoA, Euclid and Aristotle, so will need some time. Add to this I have a car show to judge this weekend, and well it will be late...- NJoyzAudio

Introducing the "Baroque Eartips" - Now Available!
Thank You Eric! Bought and have been using the MS size of the Baroque and a little better isolation with a better seal (small works but leaves a little wanting for isolation, the M was too big for me and did not seal well or were uncomfortable on my daily driver IEM's) And it left the sound...- NJoyzAudio

Ultron 5 Well… If it’s just surge protector, I’d recommend separating the amp from the rest just because you don’t want to overload the circuit, but to be sure you might want to consult an electrician Whether SS or tube, you should give the amp its own dedicated plug as a best practice IMO.- NJoyzAudio

Ultron 5 I do use one but it’s really a basic one as I have lots of computer HW in the same room so just making sure it’s filtering with all that electrical noise inducing HW in the same area, and it’s more about filtering than insuring against power sag or surges. I’ve had it hooked to a higher...- NJoyzAudio

Cayin HA-3A, a Compact 6V6s Transformer-coupled Tube Amplifier
Ultron 5 Easiest way to explain it, is it’s a way to personalize the sound. Tube rolling is a way to fine tune/adjust the sound to your liking. This is what I and others here commenting about tubes, are trying to do, and why we change (roll) tubes to find combinations we like and provide the...- NJoyzAudio
