If the muddy sound is that bad, it's a damaged headphone. The amp can't be unlistenable muddy with one headphone and totally fine with another. (That's a thing for OTLs with high output impedance, but not in transformer coupled designs)

Wandla GSE only shines due to the spatial enhancement and impact+ features. Regular Wandla isn't bad, but a little thin compared to a Holo Spring for instance. Did you try the GSE or regular Wandla?
