Mine have incredible bass, almost too much, and wouldn't call them birght nor thin 🤔 these either need a burn in or something is off. Sound should be lush, spacious with copious amount of well controlled bass. Mine are also very quiet even on Utopia high impedance.

You've got many options for power tubes as well as drivers, very flexible rectification. WE is great but there are plenty alternatives on the same level of performance.

Depends how much you wamt to roll tubes. HA300 is a tube rollers dream with loads of top quality options.

It is very very good indeed. I guess for people with midrange centric headphones like ZMFs this could be an overkill, but for more reference or Vshape sets its awesome. For me this is the best pairing for the 1266 TC.

Yes. Imo don't bother with 12au7, go straight into quads. Many people love Mullard CV6 White prints, I also like KenRad 7193 and Pinnacle 6J5, all quads are insanely good.
