Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
I appreciate it, but I'm not going that Opto way, it's too messy. I am ok with the stock power supply, even though the cable is so cheap a bit of the jacket came off on one side of the cable and that prompted me to get the iFi, I am sure the iFi blows the stock away.- GuiltyRocker

You can do 15, 12 or 9V with the M scaler. Internally it takes it down to 5V if I remember correctly. 15V is a little close to it's limit, if the power supply goes over it can fry it. So I'm going 12V, tired of charging the Bix Power.- GuiltyRocker

I'm gonna try the iFi Elite 12V on the M Scaler, I hear it's as quiet as a battery, let's hear if that's the case.- GuiltyRocker

Watts Up...?
Excellent points, there is respect here and we have fun! If you want to know my profession, I'm an accountant by education and a wealth manager π. But I may have to switch to electrical engineering and go into creating my own amps π π π. I love this stuff.- GuiltyRocker

I love how people come in here to "educate" the designer, in this case Rob Watts. π π π. It just cracks me up, maybe some need education about education ππ π.- GuiltyRocker

Perfectly said, what you can do is not listen to the system for a while, then listen to it again and you'll be shocked at how good it is, especially if you listen to crappy systems in the time you're not listening to yours. It is fascinating.- GuiltyRocker

Nope, which is why I make fun of it all π. I've been in this hobby since I was in the crib, I remember hanging on to the crib handles as my father played vinyl π π π- GuiltyRocker

I know how to pick em π. I'll keep bringing in my music and others should too! A lot of talk about hypotheticals of power supplies and other stuff and very little music recommendations, bizarre if you ask me π π π- GuiltyRocker

The New Chord Quartet M Scaler Discussion Thread
Very true, when Chord releases a product it is finished, I don't see Rob and the company releasing firmware updates to patch an unfinished product as I see plenty of others in the industry. I like that Rob takes his time and finishes a product and it's done, no insecurities as plenty of other...- GuiltyRocker

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
To me Optical blows away all other inputs like USB and Coax, and to me Coax is the worst. With Optical on the M scaler a warmth gets in and with even more transparency, it is not bright at all and I can hear more into the music, including the separation. I agree with Rob 100 percent, USB and...- GuiltyRocker
