Not sure of how the wood affects the sounds in the CC, but in the AC the wood does create a discernable difference. Some owners have switched between the same headphone but with a different wood type to get a slightly different sound signature.- senseitedj

Don't know about this.. I think ACs and AO win out in the timbre department. There is something magical about stringed instruments like acoustic guitars or harps on Atriums that I think planars just could not do quite as well. Personally ACs make me like enjoy songs that I wound not otherwise...- senseitedj

I've had an issue with a loose solder joint in the right channel. It seems the culprit isn't negligence in craftsmanship - but rather Tomas was not experienced in the art of shipping and parcel protection - even though I knew he did try to ship his amps as securely as he can to the best of his...- senseitedj

I think there are 4 'viable' pads now: Caldera Thin, Caldera Suede, Bokeh Suede, and Auteur Hybrids if I'm not mistaken? The first 3 are usually most discussed.- senseitedj

Reading multiple reviews on the CC, there seems to be a consensus that the CC is better off with low-Z outputs, whereas the AC/AO is better with high-Z outputs. CO not as clear. Of course everything will depend on the source chain at the end of the day, but this seems to be the general trend.- senseitedj

Not disagreeing with you here, but I always found the stock lambskin pads on the AC sort of holds it back from it's full potential technical wise because of the high bass boost. I feel that those lambskin pads are more suitable when your source chain are on the analytical side. To my ears, the...- senseitedj

The (Un)Official Amp Thread For ZMF Headphones
Chord DAVE has quite large soundstage, among largest in the DACs ive heard. Chord TT2 has decent body and but slighly less soundstage. The Burson amps are also a more budget friendly option but still also deliver a large soundstage. Bartok has slightly lower soundstage than DAVE but has more...- senseitedj

dCS Bartok
I find the dcs forums to be more useful to get more info on the bartok. Personally I feel the Bartok is one of the most well built products in audio. Alot of these high end dacs are often so clunky to use that they feel like a product still in beta. The Bartok on the other hand is a...- senseitedj

Tomas' amps are magical when you pair the high-z output and a high-z HP such as your HD800. I got similar results with my Beyer T1 and ZMF Atrium closed. Personally the amp improve the atriums' performance level close to that of uber TOTL HPs.- senseitedj

The (Un)Official Amp Thread For ZMF Headphones
There is something magical about the atrium biocell driver combined with the ADS. In particular it's spatial qualities stand out I find that to get best results, you to go high gain or impedance settings on your amp. This will increase the tonal density and richness of notes. With this all the...- senseitedj
