The Ethernet cables, Switches and Network related sound thread. Share your listening experience only.
Cool. I've using the Nexus Link units now. They act like a wireless bridge between router and music room. One is connected via short cable to modem/router, the other is connected via ethernet to my server. I have LPSUs on both. I also have a LPSU on the EtherRegen. The only thing I don't at the...- tholt

So I've now added the EtherRegen and I'd say it made a small but noticeable improvement. Before adding it I was previously just using a SotM ISO-Cat 6 device between my wifi extender and server. Can't say that made much of a difference. The ER seemed to increase the 'liveness' of the sound by a...- tholt

Dubstep Girl's Massive 5AR4/5R4/5U4G Rectifier Review/Comparison! (Rectifer Tube Rolling thread)
Thanks for the info, Wes. The one I picked up is from 1958, brown base, grey plates (stapled) with what seller described as rectangle getter. So maybe that's considered square, though it looks rectangular in the pictures. It does have the corner notches in the plates like the other post I cited...- tholt

Congrats man! I had my eye on that one for some time as well, before I went for the Mogwai instead. BBs don't come on the market very often, so that's a pretty special get. Enjoy! It's a nice tube, especially if you need the extra bit of gain. I think for me the G73-R still edges it out. Both...- tholt

I mean, it could be your own cables are influencing the sound in that case. Try the stock ones to see if they change the sound closer to the what you remember. At any rate, if the newest 1000se are indeed less bright, that's a good thing- tholt

Congrats! Are you sure it's not just your brain adjusting? Would be hard to go from memory after 3 years. AFAIK HFM hasn't officially announced any changes, who knows if there have been soft changes but those would't be publicly announced. Perhaps too the newer cables sound different than the...- tholt

Never heard the Arya so I can't comment, I'll let others chime in on what they think. If you think they're similar then sure. But for $1699, I wouldn't hesitate going straight for the 1000se- tholt

HiFiMan Susvara
How about just Susvara 2? Or something completely different? Assuming the new name is referring to the bare grills, it sounds like they thought about it for 5 min and said 'let's go with that.' It was not a well thought out name. Susvara Unveiled is terrible- tholt
