Denon AH-D7000
Well, I have the D2000 and D7000 (both stock) and the difference to me is that the D7000 has more detail thank's to a more pronounced treble and deeper bass. I do however slightly prefer the D2000 because of it's more forgiving nature (the D2000 is more fun to my ears). The treble of the D7000...- Lamprologus

Amp for Sennheiser HD-800, Ultrasone Ed. 9 and Denon D7000
Budget is around a 1000 Euro or so. I'm actually a bit concerned about my source, a Classé CDP-10. It has tons of impact and punch but is sometimes sounding a bit bright. When I tried the HD-800 with my 18 year old Harman Kardon CD-player (from the headphone out) the HD-800 sounded...- Lamprologus

Amp for Sennheiser HD-800, Ultrasone Ed. 9 and Denon D7000
Looking to buy an amp, primarily for use with Sennheiser HD-800. I have only a few ss amps at hand and there is no apparent synnergy with the HD800. In addition, I also feel that the pairing of my SS ampd with the Denon D7000 results in a slightly too prominent bass (probably due to the hp in...- Lamprologus

Sennheiser HD800 Appreciation Thread
I'm very surprised and thrilled by what these phones can do. I've been using closed headphones almost exclusively during the last 4-5 years, partly because I need the isolation at times but also because I find closed phones so much more fun to listen too. HD800 is punchy, has a very nice...- Lamprologus

ATH-M50 vs ultrasone hfi 780
Go with the M50, I'm using my pair straight out of an iPOD and they sound excellent. In comparison, the M50 has the better midrange (at least unamped), the 780 tends to sound rather lean in the mids.- Lamprologus

Denon AH-D7000
Does anyone know if JR ship outside of the US? If so, what's the web address? I'm very interested in trying these to see if they can match my Edition 9. At the prices you've been discussing here it's a no-brainer.- Lamprologus

So what's the word on the new Ultrasone HFI-780????
I'm having my pair on burn-in 24/7 since saturday. I liked the sound from the start and while they share some similarities with my E9's, as reported by others as well, they are IMO more similar to my HFI-450. Note that this is basically pre-burn in impressions, they may end up being closer to...- Lamprologus
